The Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer that has experience with frontend development and building user-friendly, scalable web applications. You will work in an autonomous, purpose-driven team and take an important role in shipping new features while continuously aiming to improve the performance, stability, and scalability of the systems. You are expected to contribute with frontend development within your team but we also encourage everyone to understand and contribute to other parts of the stack. Since we use Node for many of our backend systems, you are expected to work with and be interested in learning that. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment with agile principles. We are cloud agnostic and run our infrastructure and systems on Azure, AWS, as well as dedicated servers.

Our engineering team is mostly located in central Stockholm, but with a remote first culture we’re able to bring on people who prefer full-time remote work.

You

  • you have knowledge/work experience in React and its ecosystem
  • are comfortable writing and testing modern JavaScript and tooling in the ecosystem
  • believe in continuous delivery and automatic testing of web applications
  • you care about design, usability and the user experience
  • are curious and can adapt quickly and enjoy a dynamic and ever-changing environment
  • have a pragmatic mindset and can make trade-offs on what to optimise for in your solutions
  • you have experience working in teams and pair programming with engineers. 
  • have solid knowledge on how to work with Git and GitHub flow.

The Role
We are looking for a seasoned Product Owner to join our team that works with Acast’s consumer products. Acast currently has Mobile Apps for Android & iOS, integrations with Smart Speakers, cars as well as a web experience and an embeddable player. 

As the product owner of this team you will collaboratively define and prioritize what to build, align with stakeholders and demo incremental deliveries to create enthusiasm and alignment on priorities with the rest of the organization. Your team will be composed of skilled engineers and a product designer.

You will also collaborate in the product team with other Product Owners to create alignment and momentum across the organisation. As a Product Owner, you will have an important role within the team to help us become better Product Owners and build better products.

Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a new purpose driven team that will create data driven products to help other teams provide smarter solutions to our end customers as well as core dataset for business critical use-cases such as payouts to our podcasters. This team’s ambition is to transform our data into insights. The products you build will be used by our mobile apps, the product suite we have for podcast creators and advertisers as well as by other departments within Acast. 

In this role you will work with other engineers, product owners within a cross functional agile team.

You

  • 3+ years of experience of building robust big data ETL pipelines within Hadoop Ecosystem: Spark, Hive, Presto, etc
  • Are proficient in Java or Scala and Python
  • Experience with AWS cloud environment: EMR, Glue, Kinesis, Athena, DynamoDB, Lambda, Redshift, etc.
  • Have strong knowledge in SQL, NoSQL database design and modelling, and knowing the differences on modern big data systems and traditional data warehousing
  • DevOps and infrastructure as code experience (a plus), familiar with tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloudformation, Terraform etc
  • Advocate agile software development practices and balance trade-offs in time, scope and quality
  • Are curious and a fast learner who can adapt quickly and enjoy a dynamic and ever-changing environment

This team’s ambition is to transform our data into insights. You will contribute to designing, building, evaluating and refining ML products. These products you build will be used by our mobile apps, the product suite we have for podcast creators and advertisers as well as by other departments within Acast. 
 
In this role you will work with other data engineers, product owners within a cross functional agile team.

You

  • have a minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • are comfortable writing Python (R or Scala)
  • are familiar with open Source ML models
  • have experience performing analysis with large datasets
  • are curious and can adapt quickly and enjoy a dynamic and ever-changing environment
  • are a good communicator and you can explain complex solutions to your peers as well as non-technical people
