Overview

Confluent is searching for an experienced technical leader to manage a global team of rockstar Customer Success Engineers (CSEs).  Our CSEs team serves as proactive and deeply technical guides to our customers as they adopt Confluent’s Stream Data Platform.  Many of these customers use Confluent’s products for strategic and mission critical use cases and your goal will be to help your team apply deep technical expertise to reduce time to value during Onboarding, and to help them achieve their business objectives and get full value from Confluent’s suite of products.   In this role you will focus on driving post-sales customer value and project success while supporting business goals for renewal, expansion and strategic growth.

A typical week at Confluent in this role may involve

  • Managing Customer Success Engineers, and acting as a mentor and coach to help them grow in their careers
  • Support ongoing growth and development of the CSE team by owning staffing and hiring 
  • Acting as a point of escalation for customers, and coming up with creative solutions to leverage cross-functional resources to accelerate
  • Onboarding and remove roadblocks to customer value
  • Maturing a robust technical onboarding program aimed at decreasing the “time to value” for new Confluent customers
  • Developing and improving our customer service offerings and engagement playbooks that align to our understanding of the customer journey
  • Implementing tracking and reporting to ensure high quality delivery by CSE team resources Investing in a culture of cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Identify product and technology gaps with customers and present a point of view to product and leadership teams

Required skills and experience:

  • Prior experience managing technical teams - the ideal candidate will have experience managing a remote team
  • Prior experience working as a CSE or in another related customer-facing technical role (e.g. professional services, solutions engineering, etc.) that will enable you to coach CSEs who report to you and develop programs/process to guide them
  • A passion for process development and data driven decision making
  • Strong experience handling both customer-facing and internally escalated issues
  • Excellent written and communication skills as well as customer-facing relationship development skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, and an ability to apply those to Confluent’s business
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to new, fast-changing situations

  • Other Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with major cloud providers such as GCP, AWS and Azure
  • Prior experience with Big Data technologies (e.g. Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
  • Preferred Qualifications:

Confluent is looking for a Customer Success Architect in Europe who will serve as the technical champion for our enterprise customers.  In this role, you will function as the primary point of contact for all technical, product and support questions on a day-to-day basis and will coordinate with the various Confluent teams to ensure that Confluent team resources are leveraged efficiently to make your customers successful.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build broad experience with Kafka, the Confluent Platform and work with a variety of organisations ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers. Throughout all of these interactions, you will build strong relationships with customers, ensure exemplary delivery standards, and have a lot of fun helping our customers build state-of-the-art streaming data infrastructure alongside colleagues who are widely recognised as leaders in this space.

To do this role you will need to be based in France but it does not matter where as it can be mostly managed remotely.

A typical week at Confluent, in this role, may involve:

  • Champion and advocate for the customer within Confluent - you will be the voice of the customer and will have to coordinate between Confluent’s Sales, Product, Services, Support and Training teams to drive customer success
  • Developing and presenting periodical customer reviews to Confluent senior management
  • When necessary, roll up your sleeves and dig in to help address customer issues alongside Confluent Support Engineers and Core Engineering

As part of our rapid growth, we’re looking to expand our Customer Success leadership team. The Manager, Customer Success will help lead, develop and grow a team focused on the health of customers within Confluent’s West/Central region.   • Accountable for success metrics and retention of a defined account base across the West/Central USA region.
  • Tracking and consistently reducing time to value for new customers with Confluent products. 
  • Identifying and driving constant improvement in Confluent’s internal processes for managing critical customer concerns. Advocating for customers internally. 
  • Forecasting renewal metrics to the Director, Customer Success and Regional Sales leadership. 
  • Ensuring a team of CSMs have all resources needed to be successful in their daily workflow. 
  • Collaborating with sales, support, marketing, and other field teams on addressing issues which may be impeding customers’ success with Confluent products and expansion of use within an account.
  • Continuously work to improve and scale the Global Customer Success organization by sharing process frameworks, tools, and best practices that can be easily adopted to increase organizational development and efficiency.

About the team:

Confluent is growing at an incredible rate with a large amount of our growth taking place working with
our Marketplace Cloud Providers. We are looking for a Business Manager to join our team to support
Marketplace opportunities and processes within Sales Operations. Reporting to the Deals Desk Director,
you will have an opportunity to work cross-functionally throughout our organization on a variety of
projects that support the marketplace deal processes. For this role, an analytical, problem-solving
mindset with attention to detail are imperative, along with strong communications skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross functional teams:  act as a liaison among Finance, Business Development, Sales, Engineering and Cloud Providers to facilitate the deal process for “non-standard” Marketplace opportunities, including the eligibility requirements, implementation and documentation.  Work at both the strategic and tactical levels.
  • Engage with Engineering and Finance teams to optimize the processes between Confluent and the Cloud Provider and expand Marketplace functionality.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the full quote to cash process and requirements for each of three primary Cloud Providers.
  • Manage the development of customer relationships through the Marketplace.  Directly engage with customers, external third parties and internal stakeholders to ensure a successful on-boarding process to the Confluent cloud on each Marketplace platform.  
  • Drill into Marketplace transactions that require customer-specific activities or changes, including engaging internal teams to find solutions and coordinating with external Cloud providers to effect the required changes.
  • Manage Marketplace transactions throughout their life-cycle including mid-term expansions, multi-year commitments and cancellations.
  • Assist in overseeing the Marketplace strategy, management, forecasts and results.  These include developing reports for short and long term objectives, customer metrics, and overall performance of each Solution Providers.  
  • Provide on-going strategic insights and recommendations via monthly reports of each Solution Providers.  Putting into place action items to ensure efficiency of the overall Marketplace channel.

  • 5-10 years experience in project management, business analysis and customer engagement
  • Strong analytical skills in process documentation and process improvement
  • Strong communications skills, experience in customer facing role required

  • Requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 7+ years related experience in field marketing supporting a enterprise sales team 
  • Data-driven mindset with a focus on quantifiable outcomes derived from field marketing
  • Experience with Public Sector marketing (Fed/SLED/EDU)
  • Proven track record of generating pipeline in net new logos and expanding customer accounts
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally across sales, business development, partner marketing, campaigns, customer marketing and marketing operations
  • Experience with tracking key metrics for field marketing with outstanding results
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills with ability to present ideas in a simple, straightforward manner

About the Role
Given our aspiration to make event streaming the central nervous system of the modern digital business, a robust partner ecosystem is not only essential to our success but represents an x-factor opportunity as we create this new event-streaming category.  

The Director of Global Partner Ecosystems Strategy and Operations will serve as the “right hand” to Confluent’s VP and global head of Ecosystems and Business Development, participating in all aspects of the development and execution of Confluent’s partner ecosystem strategy.   • Act as a trusted advisor to drive our global partner ecosystem strategy and manage the performance of partners against key performance indicators
  • Help prioritize target verticals, geos, solutions, metrics, and financials, and manage coverage of priority segments across cloud, GSI, and ISV partners
  • Be a key business partner in finding solutions to complex problems to drive operational excellence across the partner organization
  • Manage the annual and quarterly planning processes, including the development of business plans, routes-to-market, operating models, resource allocation, geographic coverage models, and pipeline and bookings mix

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience working with senior leaders in partner operations, GTM, and/or sales in the tech sector, with significant experience in enterprise SaaS and demonstrable success in driving growth and profitability with partners

  • Strong experience in project management technology/tools 
  • Customer oriented and strong communicator with demonstrated experience influencing and collaborating cross-functionally

About the Role

Confluent is seeking a Legal Operations Manager to join our Legal Team. This role will support the Legal Team by creating and managing operational processes and will work cross-functionally to gather and analyze data and metrics about the Legal Team’s day to day functions for the benefit of the team and the broader organization.

About The Team

About the opportunity:

This is a senior leadership role to help build out the Commercial organization at Confluent.

As the Programs head for Commercial, you will be working closely with the sales and presales leaders to help design, launch and execute GTM programs and sales campaigns to scale our business. About the Role:

About the Role
As the Sr. Director, Deal Strategy and Monetization, you will create and lead an empowered shared center of excellence, responsible for designing best practice deal structures and then driving enablement and implementation in the field. 

This team will be called upon by field sales teams early in the cycle for strategic deals and also to strategize on the ideal commercial model to ensure we win and maximize bookings and revenue. This team will also serve an important governance function, entrusted with decision rights by Finance and Legal on the most common requested terms where those functions are able to establish pre-approved non-standard alternatives.

In this role you will work closely with PM (pricing) and Finance on overall monetization strategies and bring feedback, patterns, and competitive intel from the field and customers back to the business in order to continually evolve pricing and deal structure strategy.

This position reports our VP, GTM Strategy and Operations.

What you'll do

  • Own the cross-functional process to create a clear and efficient Global Approval Matrix across all pricing structures and terms
  • Focus on early engagement for our most strategic non-standard deals, with the goal of meeting our customer’s needs while managing risk 
  • Act as the Field Ops SME/POC for Pricing strategy
  • Partner with Product Management and Marketing in New Product Introduction (NPI) process and with all pricing decisions, to bring a POV from the Field as well as ensure implementation of pricing strategies
  • Enable Sales Team on the structuring of strategic deal types. Include education and guidance on business practices, review and approval of commercial terms, and front line negotiation of agreements
  • Create and implement a governance model for standard and non-standard pricing and terms for a global sales organization
  • Maintain an evolving subject matter expertise in pricing trends and competitive pressures to recommend competitive deal structures
  • Grow, manage, and develop a strategic, highly-skilled, customer-oriented team

About the Role:

Confluent is looking for a Senior Stock Administrator to administer Confluent’s global equity programs.  In this role, you will provide direct support to and partner with key stakeholders in our Finance, Legal and People teams.  You will also be a key point of contact for employees and ensure they are well educated and informed about our equity program and processes.  This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment where your work will have a direct impact on our employees.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage all day to day equity related transactions, including processing awards, distribution of grant documentation, processing exercises and terminations
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness and integrity of all equity data in our system of record
  • Reconcile equity award activity with the company records, the broker records and the transfer agent on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with finance, tax and legal teams to provide equity reporting and ensure accounting, income, regulatory and tax compliance
  • Prepare and maintain capitalization table, stock ledger and certificates
  • Develop, document and maintain controls / integrity of data and processes
  • Keep abreast of global compliance issues and coordinate global tax compliance efforts in coordination with the Legal, HR and Tax departments
  • Collaborate and partner with Legal on development and distribution of employee education/communication initiatives

What We're Looking For:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 5+ years experience as an in-house stock administrator
  • Experience managing an equity administration system, such as Shareworks, Fidelity or Equity Edge Online both in private and public company settings
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain facts and answer questions in a clear, respectful and concise manner
  • You have strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks and projects, track and follow up on projects
  • You have the ability to work independently, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, maintain patience in high-pressure situations and take initiative where appropriate

About the Team:
Confluent’s tax team is currently comprised of a Head of Tax with assistance from finance personnel and outside consultants.  We enjoy working together, we have constant open communication, and we have been highly adaptable to the current virtual work environment. We work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide tax guidance as we support our business initiatives.   Together our tax team stays abreast of the dynamic worldwide tax environment and how it impacts Confluent.  As a team we meet our compliance and reporting requirements, using technology when possible to drive efficiency.
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated detail-oriented individual who looks to continue to develop your tax technical skills in a collaborative environment.  You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management. You’ve worked in an agile environment and you can handle multiple tasks, delivering on tight timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary calculations to complete domestic, state, and local income tax returns
  • Collaborate with third-party service providers in preparation of Federal and State income tax returns, including preparation of various book/tax differences.
  • Preparing US International calculations in accordance with applicable technical regulations, including but not limited to GILTI, FDII, & BEAT.
  • Prepare the overall ASC 740 tax provision model including close coordination with the Tax Director, third-party service providers, external audit team, and various Finance functions within the Company
  • Staying abreast of technical updates pertinent to Confluent, Inc.
  • Assist the international finance team with international tax compliance, income tax provisions, and transfer pricing calculations.
  • Assist in the SOX 404 documentation efforts for all tax accounting controls
  • Support ongoing tax projects, including tax research and modeling tax impacts
  • Develop impactful working relationships with finance, accounting, and other teams/organizations within the company
  • Prepare non-income tax calculations for:  sales and use taxes, business taxes, and property taxes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax experience
  • CPA (in process ok)
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Big 4, large public accounting firm or combination of public accounting firm and corporate tax department experience
  • Possess experience working with cross-functional teams, and strong organizational skills
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel and Word, and research programs (i.e., Thomson Reuters CCH, Bloomberg Tax)
  • Nice to have – Experience in NetSuite (ERP) a plus and technology industry experience

About the Team:

About the Role:
As Director, Global Sales Compensation, you will be responsible for developing and administering a world class sales compensation process and building out the next phase of capabilities across the function. In this high-impact role you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including executive leadership, Finance, Data Science, and HR.  This is a mission-critical role that will help usher Confluent through its next phase of growth. This role reports to the VP of Go-To-Market Strategy and Operations and will manage a small team of direct reports.  This role will also serve as the main point of contact to support both operational and strategic timelines, policies and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic alignment on the “shape” of business and go-to-market motions that senior company leadership wants to drive through the sales incentive program
  • Develop and lead detailed compensation design and planning process that incorporates input from sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, individual payout modeling, SPIF design, cost and payout benchmarking, overall plan costing and scenario analysis
  • Develop best-in-class terms & conditions, policies, escalation mechanisms and dispute arbitration
  • Build training materials and calculators to ensure that every plan participant understands his or her compensation plan
  • Ensure accurate, timely and reliable plan administration including quota allocation, plan distribution, monthly accrual support, and payout calculations
  • Design and generate high-value reporting to plan participants and cross-functional stakeholders on plan payouts and overall plan performance.
  • Develop deep analytics on commission plan cost drivers, commission efficiency, pay-curves, and plan effectiveness at driving strategic goals. 
  • Partner with finance, legal and HR to address commission disputes and resolve issues directly with plan participants and their management, as appropriate
  • Present annual plan design and recommendations to senior executives, including e-Staff.

Required:

  • 5-to-7 years of sales compensation experience, or 3-5 years of dedicated comp experience plus additional experience in Sales Operations or Financial Planning & Analysis.  
  • Experience with Cloud or B2B SaaS compensation concepts
  • At least 2 years of people management experience

Confluent is searching for an experienced technical leader to manage a team of rockstar Customer Success Engineers (CSEs) and Customer Success Technical Architects (CSTAs) in EMEA.  Our CSE team serves as proactive and deeply technical guides to our customers as they adopt Confluent’s Stream Data Platform.  Many of these customers use Confluent’s products for strategic and mission critical use cases and your goal will be to help your team apply deep technical expertise to help them achieve their business objectives and get full value from Confluent’s suite of products.   In this role you will focus on driving post-sales customer value and project success while supporting business goals for renewal, expansion and strategic growth.

A typical week at Confluent in this role may involve

  • Managing Customer Success Technical Architects and  Customer Success Engineers, and acting as a mentor and coach to help them grow in their careers
  • Support ongoing growth and development of the EMEA CSE team by owning staffing and hiring for your region
  • Acting as a point of escalation for customers, and coming up with creative solutions to leverage cross-functional resources to solve customer issues
  • Contributing to the development of a robust technical onboarding program aimed at decreasing the “time to value” for new Confluent customers

About the Team:
The Confluent Sales Operations team is chartered with building and managing the systems, processes and tools that will keep our sales team achieving great results even as we scale through hyper-growth. 

About the Role:
Confluent is looking for someone to administer and support a world-class compensation process, starting with compensation planning, quota allocation, the creation of individual sales plans, calculation of achievement, and timely, accurate, high-value reporting for the business and for plan participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and help structure efficient and effective compensation programs for the company’s global sales organization
  • Execute the process to create/change, publish, and obtain signatures for individual compensation plan documents
  • Perform day-to-day administration of the commission calculations and provide timely resolution of inquiries from comp plan participants
  • Support the financial accrual process for monthly commission estimates
  • Analyze and make recommendations to resolve compensation-related issues
  • Develop and track metrics to assess the effectiveness of the sales incentive compensation program
  • Work cross functionally with partners in Sales Ops, Finance, HR, and other teams to ensure accuracy of data, inputs and calculations

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of sales compensation experience, ideally in a rapidly growing B2B SaaS company

About the Role

This is an opportunity to join an exceptionally strong and growing legal team in one of Silicon Valley's most well regarded and fastest growing start-ups. What you'll do

  • Serve as a primary point of contact within Confluent on general corporate, governance, and securities matters

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience working as an attorney, including at a top-tier law firm
  • JD from a top-tier law school
  • Strong background in securities laws and experience with IPO readiness 
  • Comfortable negotiating and managing M&A transactions 
  • Familiarity with public company reporting requirements
  • Active member of a state bar, preferably California
  • Strong analytical skills and high ethical standards
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally and on projects that are new and/or unfamiliar

Key Responsibilities

About the Role:

We are looking for a Partner Solutions Architect (SA) / SE to be the technical lead for our partners in the Americas.

Apache Kafka™ and Confluent are powering the transformation to real-time event driven business across industries and that is having a profound impact on traditional business. We need someone to join the team who will jump in and execute on the current opportunities while building out the partnering landscape and engagement to help drive our Americas business to the next level of success. For this we are looking for a strong technologist who can work across the spectrum of our partner ecosystem.  

Responsibilities:

  • Educate and enable partners on Confluent’s Platform (products and services)
  • Work with partners to drive joint GTM efforts
  • Engage with partners' technical and sales leaders in support of key partner sourced and influenced customer opportunities
  • Work with global and regional systems integrators to build differentiated solutions and offerings based on Confluent technology  
  • Provide architectural guidance and recommendations across solutions, offerings and customer opportunities
  • Support partners in their efforts to build integrations and solutions that enable customers to get value from the Confluent Platform
  • Work with key cloud providers (Google, AWS, Azure, etc) in regarding key opportunities and Q&A around GTM efforts
  • Build relationships with partners' key technical contacts
  • Support in partner and partner-related technical issue resolution as appropriate
  • Provide partner  and market feedback to Confluent product management and engineering to influence product direction

What we are looking for:

  • Broad technical skills and industry experience
  • 5+ years working in partner & customer facing sales engineering roles
  • Demonstrated experience architecting solutions for enterprise customers and partners
  • Experience with some of the related messaging, streaming and ETL products commonly in the enterprise
  • Background in cloud, enterprise software and/or system integration
  • Familiarity with Linux, Java, and software design principles
  • Experience operating within and across cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, sales marketing, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a focus on identifying shared business value around complex software solutions
  • Curiosity, coupled with the ability to quickly investigate and assess new technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

We are looking for a Director to join our Deal Desk team and strategically drive day-to-day deal operations and foster the next phase of capabilities in the team to exponentially increase sales velocity. This role is a global role that reports to the Sr Director of Sales Operations - Worldwide Deal Desk and will manage an existing team of six direct reports across the Americas and internationally in EMEA and APAC.

This high-visibility role significantly impacts global operational efficiency and internal customer/stakeholder success as well as Confluent profitability. This role will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Product Marketing, Product Management, and Business Systems to develop and execute operational plans, priorities, and policies. 

For this role, we are seeking an analytically sharp leader that can easily identify gaps and agilely guide the team in quickly addressing the field’s needs. This person will shepherd hard the team in striking the perfect balance between deal velocity, deal structure/economics, and deal accuracy. The ability to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment will be key to success. Empathy and the ability to work collaboratively across teams, cultures, and time zones is a must!

Responsibilities:

  • Accelerate Deal Velocity
  • Dig into quote-to-cash process to lead data-driven decisions in implementing automation, process, and training improvements for both Deal Desk team members and Sales
  • Drive automation improvements and streamline processes to reduce manual touch points by Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, and Legal

  • Empower Deal Desk with Knowledge
  • Advise team in deal structuring, pricing/economic analytics, and “quote-to-close” best practices
  • Coach team in crafting ASC 606-compliant deals and when to flag issues to Revenue
  • Guide team in drafting non-standard terms in Order Forms and when to engage Legal

  • Ensure Deal Accuracy
  • Implement a scalable combination of review procedures, automations, and training to ensure Opportunities, Quotes, and Order Forms are complete and accurate
  • Develop and execute measurable performance KPIs to assess operational and financial impacts of the team’s work and intelligently iterate based on data insights

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a Business field
  • 4+ years in people management leadership roles including some remote & global team members
  • 10+ years experience in Deal Desk, Sales Ops, sales support, contracts, and/or pricingExcellent skills in Excel modeling, synthesizing data, and presenting analysis with recommendations
  • Experience creating strong cross-functional partnerships across Revenue, Legal, Business Systems/IT, and Go-To-Market teams
  • Working knowledge of drafting commercial terms and experience in advising team on approach

About the Role
We are looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to own our Global Webinar Programs.
