About the role

We are looking for an experienced Frontend developer interested in working on a greenfield internal Admin interface project built using Next.js and React. You will be responsible for replacing and improving our legacy admin feature set whilst ensuring the code written is scalable, reusable, maintainable and most importantly has a very low barrier to entry for contribution from other teams who might not be familiar with the codebase. You will be coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience working with React
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • Meaningful experience working on either large complex enterprise level systems or proven ability to build a greenfield product from start to finish
  • Ability to take extreme ownership over your work
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements

About the role:

The Finance team at Kraken is a group of specialists charged with managing the firm’s liquidity, capital and risk, and providing the overall financial controls and reporting functions for executive decision making, compliance, and audit readiness. Our work contributes directly to Kraken’s success. The newly created Finance Transformation and Platform Operations office within Finance will define our financial data requirements, systems, and processes across all Kraken products, services, geographies, and legal entities. 
We are seeking a Director,Finance Transformation and Platform Operations (FTPO) to join our Finance organization. The Director, FTPO will build and lead a 10-15 person team consisting of the Finance Transformation, Platform Operations, and the Reconciliation teams. As part of the Finance leadership team at Kraken, you will work closely with the CFO and the rest of the Finance leaders to plan, implement, continuously improve, automate, test, and ensure that platform accounting is ready for an audit. You will liaise with our Product, IT and Data teams to drive automation and implement technology-driven projects for the Finance team. 

What you'll do:

  • Together with the leadership team in Finance, holistically assess the long term technology needs to provide scalable solutions and support the growth in all Finance functions (Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Tax)
  • Build and grow the Finance Transformation and Platform Operations (FTPO) team and be the go-to person for leading and driving all technology-driven and automation initiatives for the Finance team
  • Oversee and continue to strengthen the Platform Accounting function
  • Establish an exceptional Reconciliation team to establish stronger internal controls and to ensure all transactions are properly accounted for in the banking/crypto gateways and in the exchange
  • Liaise with the Product, IT and Data teams to build and maintain a real-time  reconciliation tool as well as maintain informative dashboards
  • Liaise with external auditors for platform accounting matters 
  • Work with the CFO to set the immediate and longer-term strategic direction of the FTPO office by prioritising projects and resources accordingly 
  • Communicate progress and challenges with the CFO and COO in a timeline manner and proactively suggest creative solutions and paths forward 
  • Provide business requirements to improve data completeness and accuracy, as well as for new products, services, assets, geographies, or legal entities
  • Develop key metrics to measure progress and performance for Finance Transformation, Platform Accounting, and the Reconciliation Office team.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA required; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years experience and proven track record in finance transformation, finance operations roles in the financial exchanges, financial services or fintech industries; or Big 4 advisory experience in Finance Transformation or similar 
  • Knowledge of trading platforms, financial markets and strong passion in cryptocurrency 
  • Expertise in Finance Service Delivery, Exchange / Finance Operations, Audit readiness preferred
  • Experience in leading a financial services or a tech company complete financial audits
  • Ability to translate finance operations needs to technical data requirements 
  • Familiarity with databases, EPM, ERP, BI, middle and back office Finance systems / tools

The Product Manager will be responsible for the research, evaluation, listing and product management of crypto assets at Kraken. The Senior Platform Operations Analyst will be an integral part of the Finance team.  You will work closely with your Finance and Accounting leadership cohorts as well as business partners and other internal and external stakeholders.  This role reports to the Platform Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface daily with internal systems and our proprietary exchange platform to assist with fiat and digital asset position reconciliations across our various banks and wallets.
  • Promptly researching and correcting discrepancies and communicating actions to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Reconcile a variety of products and transactions including fiat, digital assets, futures, and margin
  • Independently manage and develop current reconciliation processes for greater efficiency and transparency and analyzing data against business drivers to identify issues and trends.
  • Communicate and facilitate break resolution between our OTC desks, Treasury, Developers, Data Scientists, and Finance, including making journal entries as necessary.
  • Maintain and review daily, monthly and yearly middle office reconciliations for financial and accounting issues and reporting
  • Provide support for internal and external audits
  • Participate in Ad Hoc reporting requests

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field
  • CPA in good standing strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting/audit experience
  • Industry experience in financial services, fintech, broker-dealer, banking, or exchange strongly preferred
  • Experience or knowledge with cryptocurrency is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX

The Product Manager will be responsible for the mission-critical back office systems at Kraken, used by hundreds of people every day to provide a smooth and reliable client service. Responsibilities include building a comprehensive vision and roadmap for these security-first services, close collaboration with client-facing teams, detailing of product requirements and end-to-end execution together with the technology and service teams. 
The successful candidate should thrive in a security-focused, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to easily adapt and adjust to change without sacrificing the product vision.   • Drive development of the overall back office product roadmap and implementation phases

The DevOps Engineer is critical to the Kraken platform and infrastructure. You are smart, highly skilled, and self-motivated, with a penchant for out-of-the-box thinking. We are looking for an excellent UX designer to research, analyze, and design end-to-end beautiful, intuitive interfaces throughout the entire design workflow from competitive analysis, mapping out user journeys in flow diagrams, creating sitemaps, high level wireframes to high fidelity mockups, and working with the frontend team to implement design solutions.  We need a creative, highly motivated team player with attention to detail and an eye for beautiful, clean user interfaces. You must follow the principles of User-Centered Design to always regard the user/customer experience first and support your design decisions with best practices and data from usability tests or metrics. Responsibilites

  • Perform competitive analysis, define user personas, study cryptocurrency trends and strategies.
  • Create and run usability tests during product design and after launch to guide the design process.
  • Create and improve information architecture, nomenclature, and diagrams for our apps, including sitemaps, flowcharts, wireframes, and static prototypes.
  • Work closely with our Product team and contribute to requirements gathering, design documentation, and implementation reviews.
  • Work with internal Design team and client groups to design and build user-friendly interfaces and application hierarchies based on functional specifications and persona-based usability findings.
  • Participate in key internal meetings, including regular status updates, planning sessions, document ongoing progress and effectively communicate findings
  • Review user adoption for product deliverables and acceptance testing combining data, analysis, and creative design thinking.
  • Ensure design documents are current and complete, with solutions implemented properly and user feedback incorporated into future product design iterations.

Requirements

  • 4 + years UX design experience guiding product development cycle for a successfully launched web, mobile, and/or software application.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Human Computer Interaction, Digital Media Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts or related field.
  • Passionate about current and emerging product design trends, user-centered design principles, with a knack for keeping our team informed.
  • Understand Gestalt design principles, ability to recognize design challenges, and formulate a variety of creative problem solving solutions
  • Fluent in responsive design patterns, and pairing data with effective design solutions
  • Strong sense of interaction design and user flows, with an ability to translate static solutions into wireframes, prototypes, and testable concepts.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive design critique.

About the Role

Cryptowatch is Kraken's professional charting, trading, and market analysis platform. Join our team and help us build a chat product that our users will love. We recently released the first version of this product, but there is a lot more we want to do. Our chat will support tens of thousands of concurrent users, end-to-end encrypted messaging, and tons of special commands for trading and sharing right in the UI.

About You

  • You are an expert on XMPP and have written XMPP-based backend/server code before.
  • You are comfortable in a Linux environment, can write scripts and work on the command line.

  • Extend our Prosody XMPP server with new features and functionality.

We are looking for a highly experienced developer that will drive quality on our web front end through expansion of our automation framework. What you will do

  • Deliver automated test cases in our Java/Cucumber framework from feature stories and existing manual regression tests
  • Create highly reusable test steps that can be easily used by others to write test cases
  • Advocate for quality in all aspects of our product
  • Write tickets for failed test casesReporting and documentation of test results

About the role

This is a fully remote position based in North America

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of assigned payrolls.

What you will do:

  • Maintain a close working partnership with Accounting, Human Resources, HRIS, Tax and Legal teams.
  • Process employee terminations, including final pay instructions and deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll calculations, payments and payroll reports.
  • Confirm payments received on pay date including requesting tracking information.
  • Perform payroll system tasks including set-up of new hires, changes and verification of documents.
  • Manage payroll system to ensure alignment with HRIS and Accounting system
  • Ensure payroll data and payments are aligned with country and local compliance
  • Monitor payroll emails and internal payroll channels

Overview

The Product Manager - Compliance will own internal and client-facing compliance products for Kraken. We are seeking a product manager that can own and deliver tools, features and products to meet regulatory or internal stakeholder requirements. Overview

The Product Manager will be responsible for the mission-critical risk & fraud system and workflows for the Kraken exchange. The ideal candidate is data-driven, technically adept and has a proven track record of achievement.

Responsibilities include building and driving risk & fraud vision and roadmap, deep understanding of our risk needs vs. the competition, close collaboration with client-facing teams on client behavioural patterns, detailing of product requirements and end-to-end execution together with the technology and service teams. 

The successful candidate should thrive in a security-focused, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to easily adapt and adjust to change without sacrificing the product vision. The position requires interaction with a wide variety of internal stakeholders at various levels of the organization. About the role:

The MDM Administrator will act as the subject matter expert for our enterprise MDM environment. This position is responsible for developing configuration policies, provisioning and maintenance of all endpoints. The position will also be responsible for maintaining the health and functioning of the MDM / EMM platform and will be the point person for complex technical issues with stakeholders such as end users, operators, Service Desk touch points, and third-party support providers

Requirements

  • 2+ years of MDM or EMM administration experience, such as Airwatch, Scalefusion, or Cisco Meraki
  • Experience configuring and supporting MDM or EMM for a medium or large-sized organization
  • Experience with MDM / EMM patch management, maintaining / updating applications and OS
  • Experience with MDM automation scripting
  • Expertise in troubleshooting technical problems with a focus on rapid resolution 
  • The ability to manage multiple simultaneous and diverse technology issues to resolution, with minimal supervision and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to self-prioritize and manage multiple workloads
  • Must be able to assist in after hours on-call rotation
  • Critical thinking skills, with the ability to think creatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision

About the Role

This is a fully remote role requiring English fluency. You must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

We’re accepting applicants for our Client Engagement team, which provides first rate customer support to our users and also handles most aspects of payments operations. Our team is one of the best in the industry, and we’re looking for people who can make us better.

For this role, we are looking for candidates who have previous experience in a fraud-related field or account security.

Many of us work remotely, but we’re in touch with each other constantly. We collaborate to solve tough problems and meet regularly to stay up to date on what’s going on in the company and industry. We have a great community, and many of us have become close friends.

Responsibilities

  • Fraud detection and profiling
  • Perform risk assessments
  • Assisting with developing fraud strategies for current and new markets
  • Analyze customer level information to determine action for both customers and company policy.
  • Create risk-based rules to mitigate emerging fraud trends and monitor performance of same with regard to fraud prevention and customer experience.
  • Provide training and development to internal teams.
  • Continuous review of merchant transaction activity for possible fraudulent activity and reporting appropriately to prevent fraud and risk. 
  • Compiling and implement security measures and fraud prevention strategies and the ability to pick up on irregularities on card transactions.
  • Periodically utilizing e-mail, responding to 20 to 150 client concerns regarding trading (explaining margin, answering questions about order execution), digital asset transfers (looking at block explorers, answering questions about bitcoin transactions), and other general questions on daily basis
  • Strive to make your work as efficient as possible by improving or creating processes, automating as much of your work as possible, and so on

Requirements

  • Strong written English communication skills (other languages are helpful)
  • Previous experience in a fraud or security related field
  • Security and privacy focused
  • Crypto trading experience, preferably on multiple platforms
  • High output -- metrics-based experience is helpful
  • Able to make quick decisions autonomously
  • Detail oriented
  • Loves helping people
  • Technical background a major plus
  • Experience with Kraken’s API a major plus
  • Fluent in English on a professional level. Fluent in one of the following languages: French
