We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented person with a roll up your sleeves attitude to join our team as the first Pricing Operations Manager, reporting to the Head of Pricing. You will help ensure accurate and timely quote generation by managing multiple operations workflows, supporting cross-functional communications and project management, and providing feedback to further develop our internal pricing software. 

This role also requires cross-functional leadership, as you will have to interface across a variety of teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Business Operations. You’ll be joining a talented, experienced team and be a part of building something special from the ground up.

What you will do

  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of quotes for new business and renewals, consulting with our underwriting team, technology partners, and reinsurers as necessary
  • Manage and improve multiple operational workflows related to preliminary quotes, final quotes, claims experience rating, facultative approvals, and renewal quoting.
  • Work closely with our Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure best practices are followed, to develop training materials, and to manage escalated pricing issues with the right blend of judgment and data-driven decision making.
  • Think creatively while using our business intelligence tools to build scalable processes so our team and company work more efficiently.
  • Partner with our product team to develop new features to support scalable operations.

About you

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a healthcare, insurance, and/or start-up environment. Knowledge of the health insurance industry preferred, but not required.

Product Marketing Manager

Sana is in search of a Product Marketing Manager to help build its Marketing dream team from the ground up.  The role will work with our Demand Generation function to accelerate growth in all phases of the Marketing & Sales funnel by mapping our customer journeys and developing content that addresses the needs of each stage.  The right candidate will have several years of experience in B2B marketing, have built great relationships with both Product and Sales teams, love mapping customer journeys and creating compelling content.  You will have no trepidation about calling customers and prospects to get the feedback you need to fully understand those journeys and the content needed to serve them.  You love winning, have a positive attitude, and motivate those around you to do their best work.

The position is mostly remote, though some in-office work will be required.

What you will do

  • Create and hone product positioning and messaging derived from your research with prospects, customers, Sales, and Operations, as well as competitive research.  user research, market insights, and product understanding.  Bridge the gap between Product and Marketing by turning industry-speak and jargon into language that is immediately understandable to our prospects and customers and which resonates with them.
  • Own the production of Sana’s Marketing and Sales content.  Create a strategy for our content needs each quarter and for the fulfillment of those pieces.  Fulfillment will often be accomplished by producing them yourself (you should like to write),  but will also include managing production by internal stakeholders and outside contractors.
  • Develop a strong rapport with the Sales team, and deliver the assets they need to increase conversion rates at each stage of the Sales funnel.
  • Work with the rest of Marketing to develop customer lifecycle marketing campaigns, a content calendar, and go to market strategies.
  • Define the metrics that should be used to measure your value added, and work with BI to develop reports that show those metrics.
  • Be the point person for competitive analysis.  Understand where Sana stands in the competitive landscape, which strengths we should focus on currently in our Sales & Marketing efforts and which weaknesses we should prioritize with Product and Operations for improvement.

About you

  • You have 4+ years of experience in B2B Marketing roles, preferably within startups/smaller Marketing teams. You will wear many hats.
  • You love to write and are great at it. You have samples of blog posts, case studies, etc. that prove it.
  • You like talking to other people inside and outside the company. You have worked extensively with teams outside of Marketing to gather the requirements for the content you spearhead. You like picking prospects’ and customers’ brains about how they think about their problems, our products, and everything in between. You are energized by making presentations.
  • You’re a great communicator. First and foremost, this requires you to be a great active listener. Second, you are gifted at communicating complex ideas with succinct phrasing in both oral and written communications.
  • You are analytical. You can take apart business problems piece by piece to understand where to start looking for answers.
  • You’re a great teammate, both with other Marketing team members, and just as importantly with Sales (who will be your ultimate customer). You have a demonstrated history of working well with Sales teams.
  • You are invigorated by, rather than anxious about, being the first person to do something at your company. Sana is a startup, and the Marketing team is in its early days.  For the foreseeable future, you will spend much more time creating than optimizing.

Sana is looking for a Product Designer to join our small but growing team. You will work closely with the Senior Product Designer to support the company with all design-related tasks – both leading your own projects and playing a crucial supporting role in carrying out larger product initiatives. Your projects will vary between designing digital user experiences, creating visual improvements for existing UI, creating graphics for email communications and social media, and supporting cross-functional teams with print collateral. This is not a specialized role. You will have the opportunity to touch many facets of design and have an immediate impact on the business.

What you will do

  • Design web-based tools for our administrative customers, members, and internal users
  • Work with our PM and Senior Product Designer to simplify complicated manual processes and tasks, translating them for the digital space
  • Innovate new ways to make health benefits easier for members to use and understand
  • Collaborate with our Senior Product Designer to create visuals that fit within the Sana brand
  • Create new and improve upon existing digital features so they are functional, easy, and enjoyable for our members to use
  • Work closely with software engineers to implement and test your designs
  • Collaborate with and support our Operations department with member experience and communication initiatives 
  • Team up with our Marketing and Sales departments to message the Sana brand, creating collateral to support sales outreach and events

About you

  • 2-4 years working as a designer on digital projects
  • The ability to design intuitive interfaces, simplify complex information, and create best-in-class user experiences
  • Experience working in Sketch or comparable design software
  • Experience working with inVision or comparable prototyping tools
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

Sana is looking for a Demand Generation Manager to help build its Marketing dream team from the ground up.  The right candidate will have several years of experience in B2B marketing, be a master of marketing automation and email marketing, and have experience working closely with a Sales organization to break revenue records each quarter. You love winning, have a positive attitude, and motivate those around you to do their best work. The position is mostly remote, though some in-office work will be required.

What you will do

  • Be the master of our Marketing Automation Platform (MAP). Create and maintain marketing and operational flows in the MAP, and be the go-to person for executing strategies through that software.
  • Own the revenue goals for your channels of focus.  Meet and exceed those goals.
  • Understand our buyer personas and buyers’ journeys so that you can leverage them to send the right content to the right person at the right time.
  • All things around email acquisition.  Build emails, build campaigns, measure performance, maintain a clean email database, etc.
  • Create and maintain a testing framework to always be improving each aspect of the channels you own.
  • Create reporting that makes the results of your efforts clear to others across the company.
  • Work with Sales Ops to create and enforce Sales’ SLA’s, data gathering requirements, and attribution.
  • Seek out new marketing technologies, make business cases for the promising ones, and implement those that are approved.

About you

  • 4+ years of experience in marketing automation systems and email marketing. Similar experience in Salesforce CRM.
  • Experience in other B2B marketing channels - organic search, paid search, paid display, social, paid social, events, etc.A very competitive self-starter. You dream about moving your numbers up and to the right. You hate losing.

We are seeking a data-driven and analytical professional to join our emerging Business Operations team. We are looking for a SQL savant with the ability to partner seamlessly with teams across the organization to dig into Sana’s financial, medical, pharmacy, utilization, customer, and sales data to produce clear and actionable insights. This position requires storytelling, communication, and project management experience as well as technical skills in analytics. This team member will report directly to the Head of Business Operations. 

Sana is a remote-first company with roots in Austin, TX. We use modern communication and file-sharing tools to operate across time zones on a day-to-day basis, and we get together in person several times per year.

What you will do

  • Own the data, analytics, and reporting to empower product, operations, sales, and finance teams and guide business decisions. 
  • Lead analytics-related discussions with internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Define and prioritize Sana's reporting roadmap; help requestors shape questions into something that will produce meaningful & actionable data
  • Drive projects independently, adding your own intuition to transform raw data into clearly presented insights.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract data from analytics databases
  • Create internal and external-facing reports and dashboards (Mode)
  • Generally push the boundaries of Sana’s capabilities in analytics. 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative field like Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or Economics. 
  • 3+ years of experience in a quantitative role. Bonus points for experience in insurance technology or healthcare.
  • Expertise in SQL and the ability to quickly and accurately write complex queries. Knowledge of Python or R and experience with Mode, Amazon Redshift and ETL services would be a plus.
  • You have a knack for communicating and presenting complex information with precision and clarity to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You are a ruthless organizer and prioritizer. You are great at juggling competing demands and projects and communicating your priorities.
  • You care about using your analytics capabilities for something that matters, like making a big impact at scale on our healthcare system.

As our first Member Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for engaging our users across their user journey to make the most of their experience with Sana. This role requires cross-functional leadership, as you will have to interface and lead marketing initiatives across a variety of teams such as Customer Success, Design, Product, Member Support, and Operations. What You Will Do

About You

We are looking for an individual with a unique combination of talents to join our team as Head of Underwriting. The ideal candidate possesses deep experience in the health insurance industry and a high comfort level with industry-standard concepts and methodology. At the same time, that person brings a driven yet flexible entrepreneurial mindset that is critical in a startup environment. The Head of Underwriting will have broad responsibility to set and execute the vision for the mission-critical underwriting function within Sana, including everything from driving new partnerships and technology integrations to hiring a world-class team.

What you will do

  • Own the strategic vision for underwriting. You will lead a critical aspect of Sana’s business and work cross-functionally to craft a plan that builds upon our overall strategic priorities. 
  • Manage the long-term performance of Sana’s medical stop loss reinsurance loss ratios. 
  • Build enduring, trusting relationships with our reinsurance and other MGU partners. 
  • Implement, manage, and maintain the underwriting process end-to-end, including managing all data partnerships, driving the product roadmap with engineering, and implementing best practices and policies to achieve profitable results.
  • Manage trade-offs on difficult underwriting issues with the right blend of judgment and data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Sana’s patient and claims data in order to deliver insightful, detailed analyses on all things underwriting.
  • Build and run an audit program that ensures regulatory and contractual compliance.
  • Recruit and develop a world class team to accomplish the above.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in actuarial science or similar technical discipline. Advanced degree in business or analytics is a plus. 
  • 6+ years of work experience in the insurance industry, high-growth startups, or consulting / finance. Bonus points for health insurance experience and extra bonus points for insurance tech experience.
  • Driven and ambitious with an innate sense of humility. You take great pride in your work but are always eager to learn and grow.
  • Excellent people manager. You know how to identify, recruit, and maximize your team’s talent. People love working with and for you.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our health plans. You will help ensure accurate and timely medical claims payments by managing multiple operations workflows, supporting cross-functional communications and escalations, and providing feedback to further develop our internal adjudication software . You’ll be joining a talented, experienced team and be a part of building something special from the ground up.

What you will do

  • Think creatively and build scalable processes so our team and company works more efficiently
  • Ensure the timely and accurate payment of medical claims, consulting with our care partners and advisors as necessary
  • Manage and improve multiple operational workflows such as member reimbursements, appeals, and disbursements
  • Work with our support team and insurance partners to manage escalated claims issues
  • Use Excel/Sheets and our BI tool to generate internal and external reporting, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve our products
  • Provide feedback to improve member communication through our plan coverage documents

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of work experience preferred, preferably in healthcare consulting role or in a startup environment.
