About the Role

Kraken is looking for an experienced Compliance Associate - Testing with the demonstrated ability to thoughtfully review regulations, policies and procedures and apply to conduct relevant Compliance testing/monitoring. The ideal candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledgeable in various regulations (e.g. AML, sanctions, consumer, etc.) The candidate must also be self-motivated with strong Audit and/or Compliance testing/monitoring experience and thrive in a rapid-paced environment. Candidate must be committed to the values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company as a professional AML/CTF and other regulatory compliance expert with all parties, internal and external
  • Ability to multitask different tests based on the status of the review
  • Determine scope and objective of each review process
  • Develop and document test scripts, sample methodologies and sample size
  • Perform test process according to the test plan
  • Ability to review applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies to assess controls
  • Manage documentation of the test process by preparing correct and clear to understand workpapers
  • Ensure all documentations retained support the test conclusions
  • Manage various inboxes and provide timely responses to all stakeholders
  • Ability to review, analyze, and document findings of transaction testing
  • Analyze exceptions and make recommendations to enhance internal controls and/or improve efficiencies
  • Determine root cause on identified exceptions
  • Ensure testing is completed timely and accurately according to applicable standards
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to stakeholders of test results on any issues/concerns/recommendations
  • Maintain good relationship and collaborate with other lines of businesses and stakeholders
  • Conduct ad hoc projects, test, and/or monitoring reviews (based on need)

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a compliance role at a financial institution or equivalent
  • CAMS or CRCM certification preferred
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to take ownership of work product and consistently deliver results
  • Adaptability to global business needs
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing regulatory environment
  • Fluent in other languages (a plus)

About the role

This is a fully remote role, we will consider applicants based in North America, South America and EMEA. Our Engineering team is having a blast while delivering the most sophisticated crypto-trading platform out there. Help us continue to define and lead the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain core backend framework and web applications supporting Kraken’s institutional clients
  • Construct dynamically scalable platforms capable of heavy transaction volume
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement a multi-year product roadmap

Requirements

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Heroku) for deployment and orchestration

About the role:

You'll become a member of a 5 FTE DevSecOps team, and will be expected to contribute and learn across the full cloud engineering stack. You will be (or will become) a "T-shaped" individual with enormous potential to further your career in the burgeoning DevSecOps domain, with the guidance of industry leaders in Security and DevOps, and alongside a mature team of true polyglots and talented microservices developers.

Note: While this role is remote, we are only considering candidates in a +/- 5 range of GMT.

Requirements

  • Code (or script) in at least one modern application development or utility language
  • Use Source Code Management and Document Management Systems to organize business function tasks and publish relevant material
  • Be a competent Linux user

About the Role

Kraken is looking for a Paid Acquisition Manager to lead Kraken’s efforts around paid marketing efforts in APAC, owning the entire execution.

This role involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced and feedback-driven environment to solve complex business problems where you will be given the opportunity to add value from day one. This role reports directly to the Growth Marketing - Paid Acquisition Lead position. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of a digital marketing strategy for paid marketing campaigns across SEM, Display, Social, and other digital channels - keep this highly organized and visible
  • Make the calls on audience sizing, spend allocation, budget optimization, cadence, channel mix and overall prioritization of campaigns
  • Optimize spend to produce best possible ROI for the company. Make sure that we are applying the right level of resources and maximizing results

  • Measure and report key findings from campaigns to help inform short and long-term marketing effort
  • Support Australia and Japan teams

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years experience
  • B2C experience a must
  • In-depth knowledge of different digital marketing channels, online marketing tools, and best practices
  • Mastery of various attribution tools and systems. Ex: Google Analytics, Branch
  • Exceptional presentation and narrative compression skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute regional go-to-market strategies for new products, features, enhancements, and token listings by forming the positioning, messaging, and value proposition

The Senior Tax Analyst is a key contributor to the success of Kraken’s Tax and global Finance team. This highly visible role will require dynamic interactions with Kraken FP&A, Operations, Data Team, Controllership and Treasury to optimize the firm's cash taxes, tax accruals, intercompany arrangements and legal entity structuring.

  • Supports tax planning and forecasting for the firm

What you'll do:

  • Manage tax compliance for non-US entities, including direct, indirect and other taxes 
  • Prepare, review and/or manage the foreign income tax provision for non-US entities under US GAAP
  • Prepare the quarterly intercompany calculations and required journal entries, gathering the needed information for the calculations and the transfer pricing documentation
  • Other special compliance/provision related projects
  • Monitor global tax developments and analyze the potential impacts on the Company

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • CPA or equivalent      
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and a corporate tax department with a focus in compliance and provision
  • Must have strong English language skills and be able to review relevant tax rules and draft memoranda to document positions
  • Excellent technology skills, including spreadsheets and databases, is a plus
  • Knowledge of GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F inclusions, Foreign Tax Credits, Earnings & Profits, Expense Apportionment and other US international tax concepts is a PLUS
  • Experience with tax filings in Japan, the UK and other major European and Asian countries

About the role

As a Software Engineer on the Data team at Kraken, you'll be joining a fully remote group responsible for developing and integrating a variety of systems that impact Kraken both internally and externally. Kraken is growing rapidly and so are the challenges we face. We're looking for talented self-starters who can learn quickly, adapt, and aren't afraid of the word ownership.

Kraken Security is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to continue the success of Kraken!

The Security Operations Team is responsible for ensuring company systems are operating with the highest degree of security, availability, and durability. As a member of this team, you will help build, maintain, and support full-stack security tooling and infrastructure for one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is able to creatively work on multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Curiosity, collaboration, and excellent communication skills are an absolute must, as you will be working cross-functionally with different teams, people, and ranks throughout the organization. Your “customers” will be the various teams and leads within Security, Engineering and SRE, Marketing, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain public cloud infrastructure and SaaS-based tooling.
  • Regularly auditing public cloud infrastructure, identifying findings, and tracking efforts to remediation.
  • Partnering with key business functions to determine business requirements and inform Security and Compliance needs.
  • Responsible for the building, improvement efforts, and maintenance of security tooling and platforms.
  • Engaging in selection, development, customization, and deployment of critical applications, including CRM, HRIS, Finance/Accounting, Collaboration, Productivity Management, etc.

About the Role

The Strategic Intelligence team works cross-functionally, focusing on competitive intelligence and performance benchmarking within the competitive landscape. As an Intelligence Data Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting various teams with business and industry-related questions. Successful candidates will answer these broad, sometimes ambiguous questions by utilizing a variety of data sources available to the team. Additionally, this role will serve as a data consultant, helping various stakeholders understand what is possible from a data perspective and how to frame questions that can then be answered with existing data resources. You will develop your own perspectives about various trends within the market and within adjacent markets to inform areas of additional research. Lastly, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a variety of regular reporting dashboards and reports.

You should be an ambitious and curious individual who is excited by the challenge of conducting research in a highly technical, yet rapidly developing industry. You will be expected to consume and analyze large amounts of data, including unstructured alternative data sources. You will also need to maintain a high degree of attention to detail with every project, as data integrity is critical for decision-making. Experience with SQL and Python, or similar languages are a must. Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn everything cryptocurrency are a requirement for this role. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to bridge the gap between technical data engineers and business leaders, with both written and verbal communication. This is the most challenging aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist stakeholders with answering business questions with data
  • Develop dashboards for monitoring performance of various initiatives
  • Assist with preparation of regular reporting materials

  • Work with data engineers to discover new data sources and develop integration plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field and at least 2 year of relevant work experience in data analytics, business analytics, strategy consulting, quantitative trading, or a similar capacity

  • Meaningful experience writing SQL queries

About the role 
 
This is a fully remote role, we will consider applicants based in North America, South America and Europe 
 
We are looking for Data Analysts who will play a key role in driving decision making in improving Krakenite experience at Kraken. You will transform large datasets from complex systems, generate actionable insights and share the results with stakeholders at all levels of the company. You will partner and lead projects with Krakenite Experience (KX), product management, engineering, client engagement, finance and other enterprise level teams. 
 
You are a self-starter, results driven and passionate to drive success of products at Kraken using the power of data analytics.

As the Senior Data Analyst, you will add strategic value to Kraken by ensuring that we have actionable data at our fingertips in a clean, easy to understand manner. You will have top level support to go where the data takes you and build, from the ground up, a highly analytical approach to the Krakenite experience!  If  you are an experienced data detective who is passionate about creating world class data-driven people focused programs at a rapidly growing organization, apply today! 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports and present the story of the data to stakeholders on all levels of the organization in an easily accessible manner
  • Transform unstructured information, such as Krakenite sentiment, text, video or voice inputs, into usable data sources
  • Source, sift and investigate people data from multiple sources, including HR information and applicant tracking system data, HR ticketing system, Krakenite surveys, time-tracking and learning management systems, benefits portals, exit interviews, competitor practices, compensation and succession planning, and other sources
  • Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to hiring practices, Krakenite engagement, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics
  • Based on metrics and analysis, make recommendations for activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to increase efficiency in hiring practices, to motivate and retain employees, to address staffing issues, and to maintain legal compliance in regards to mandatory employer reporting requirements
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices
  • Build effective and user-friendly dashboards, and provide training to end users on how to navigate them
  • Assist KX leadership with staffing, recruiting, and departmental budgets as required
  • May guide and/or assist with performance, benefit, and compensation review and evaluation processes

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics with at least 5 years in HR data, workforce and talent acquisition analytics particularly maintaining, understanding, interpreting, and forecasting data 
  • Knowledge of API and programming languages like Python, R
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Superset)
  • Experience with Workday, Lever, and Jira (or similar) strongly preferred
  • Experience with applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.

About the Role

Kraken is looking for a Social Media Manager to establish a social media presence for Kraken’s Pro product for advanced crypto traders. Owning the creation, execution, and growth of all Pro channels, the Social Media Manager interacts with existing and potential customers through timely, dynamic, interactive, and engaging social content.

You will research and develop social media content, while building social relationships to grow product awareness, acquire new customers, and drive traffic/conversion to our Pro Products. Kraken is seeking a cyber security engineer to join our Blue Team. The team operates to detect, investigate and respond to security events and attacks against the Kraken digital asset exchange. This position reports to the Blue Team manager and is a member of the global security team working to secure one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. As a Blue Team Engineer you will design, deploy and maintain security tooling and infrastructure for the team using cutting-edge technologies as well as develop new detections that keeps us at pace with the latest threats and attacker techniques.

Duties

  • Active participant in the 24/7 Blue Team operation.
  • Take ownership of the team's infrastructure making sure it is up to date and operating as expected.

About the role:

The Application Security Ops Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, extending and onboarding application security tooling. Primary functions will also include documenting and testing against best practices for Docker and Kubernetes.

We are looking for a creative and inspiring Design Director with an eye for beautiful, clean user experiences who can manage, coach, and support the design team across multiple projects.  The successful candidate will be responsible for synthesizing blue sky ideas of new products and features, setting the Exploration design team out on a range of pursuits in light of tech feasibility, fleshing out a range of design architecture directions, reviewing high level wireframes, creating moodboards, ensuring polished high fidelity mockups and prototypes, and answering questions for development teams implementing designs into front-end components.

You will take a leading role exploring design implications of new products within our entire product ecosystem, as well as new app features while applying best practices throughout the product.  You’ll manage a team of designers and work with other Design Directors to create and test cross-platform design solutions to unique product challenges.

  • Coordinates the Exploration Design team – this team is the hub of the entire Design org – the team responsible for translating initial concepts created by teams across the company such as the Dreamers Design team and Product teams into real-world applications
  • Leads translation of conceptual design ideas to real world implementation with Product Managers & Engineering team
  • Strategize design thinking and standardize processes with Design Directors & Executive Creative Directors

Requirements

  • At least 8-10 years of product design experience or relevant undergrad degree in Design or HCI
  • At least 3 years experience managing and leading a design team
  • Strong portfolio of latest relevant work
  • Interest in creating efficient workflows within the design team and across other products (eg Cryptowatch, Futures)
  • Deep understanding of Gestalt design principles with sensitivity for composition, negative space, and typography
  • Prolific working knowledge of user-centered design & UX principles 
  • Experience with component-based design systems (Figma, Sketch)

Kraken completed the acquisition of Crypto Facilities in February 2019, a world-leading, regulated cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform (MTF). We are looking for a Head of Operations to lead the Crypto Facilities Operations team.

As the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the Operations team to ensure the smooth running of the Crypto Facilities MTF and to assist with the growth of the venue, both in terms of the product offering and the client base. You should be keen to manage a team and mentor junior team members, whilst also providing a hands-on approach to department tasks. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a derivatives trading environment, with a deep understanding of requirements applicable to trading activity under MiFID II/MiFIR being preferred.

We will be considering candidates in the EMEA region, for this position.

Responsibilities - This is a dynamic role in a fast-changing business - but for example, you will:

  • Become an expert in the Crypto Facilities platform and products
  • Be responsible for the smooth operation of the Crypto Facilities MTF, which is a 24/7 regulated trading venue
  • Ensure the health of all markets on the venue
  • Build and manage a team of Operations Associates
  • Be the accountable individual for all queries pertaining to the operation of the platform, including from both external and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with the CEO of Crypto Facilities to ensure business goals are being achieved and regulatory requirements are met
  • Work with Crypto Facilities’ compliance and product teams to ensure Member onboarding and support meet regulatory requirements and industry-leading client experience standards
  • Work closely with Crypto Facilities’ product, engineering, compliance and client engagement teams to ensure the smooth and timely deployment of new products 
  • In time, become a key member of internal governance committees and decision making bodies
  • Establish strong working relationships across functions and management levels, working collaboratively and independently
  • Present key venue information and developments to the Board of Directors as required 

Requirements

  • 10+ years working in regulated trading venue environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Graduate degree or professional certifications in a relevant field preferred

About the role

The Product Manager will join a team responsible for the flows of fiat currencies into and out of the exchange. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, an interest in user experience, is data-driven, and possesses the grit needed to bring people together to get stuff done.

Responsibilities include working with stream lead to maintain the product roadmap, keeping up with current trends in payments, clearing blockers for products in development, and owning the end-to-end process of bringing payment and funding products to market. On any given day you will collaborate with multiple engineering teams, designers, compliance, support, legal, and operations team members. No day is the same and the problems we solve are super-fascinating.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a fiat funding strategy and roadmap. Oversee product implementations in accordance with the roadmap

Responsibilities

  • Assume ownership of MTF products and internal tooling for regulatory requirements
  • Understand our MTF offering and the target markets to maximise the success, working together with our Registered Benchmark Provider to ensure product quality
  • Work closely with Operations, other product managers, Compliance and Engineering to balance the needs of internal stakeholders on the product road map
  • Monitoring the risk parameters  of existing MTF product suite, ensuring there are appropriate levers to proactively manage risk
  • Ensuring internal administrative interfaces are meeting Compliance needs
  • Communication of the vision to internal stakeholders, including leadership amongst the Group

Requirements

  • Intimate knowledge of existing crypto derivatives trading venues, both regulated and unregulated
  • Extensive first hand experience in crypto derivatives trading 
  • Strong understanding of financial theory,  financial products, quantitative finance and engineering, ideally evidenced by a Bachelor’s degree in Finance,Economics, Engineering or a related field
  • Previous product management experience, with a minimum of 1 year in crypto and/or forex/brokerage industries; preferably high frequency trading products/customer segments
  • Strong quantitative and analysis skills, including proficiency in SQL, Python, and other languages used to scrape and examine large datasets and interact with APIs

The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for the go-to-market strategy, helping to position our product offerings, as well as creation of content to message the product’s value proposition. The ideal candidate is process oriented, technically adept and has a proven track record of achievement. 

Responsibilities include the creation of go-to-market plans, project release coordination and supporting materials in partnership with design, content, technology and service teams. The product marketing manager provides day-to-day cross-functional leadership as part of the product team to ensure the timely delivery of projects which meet established feature, usability, content and quality requirements.

As a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Kraken, you'll be tasked with keeping one of the fastest growing companies in the world up and available in a 24/7 environment. Responsibilities:

  • Build software to automate parts of our release cycle

  • 5+ years in a DevOps role (DevOps, SRE, etc)
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes
  • Extensive experience with monitoring /alerting (primarily with Prometheus/Grafana) and knowledge of best practices in the area

  • 1-3+ years experience with a programming language (primarily Golang)

About the role:

We are looking for a highly experienced developer that will drive quality on our internal and external APIs through expansion of our automation framework. As a Banking SDET you would drive efforts both by producing high quality tests and through mentoring more junior members.  Your critical thinking and data reporting will shape the future of our product.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver automated test cases in our Python & Rust Cucumber frameworks from feature stories and bug reports
  • Create highly reusable test steps that can be easily used by others to write test cases
