Full-stack .NET developer
cs dot net sql javascript html5-canvas css May 27

We need full or part-time developers in a variety of roles: game development, front-end design & UX work; as well as a range of back-end work such as database optimisation, integration with third party APIs and deployment. We have a strong focus on automated testing so experience in designing tests is a real plus. Being able to work full-stack is really useful, but we also want candidates who can excel in particular aspects of the work.

Wordwall.net makes it easy for teachers to create interactive games and printed worksheets for their students. It automates the process of resource design, so teachers can simply enter the content that is appropriate for their class – a list of keywords, definitions, questions or images. Wordwall produces the content in over 60 different templates; for example, gameshow quizzes, crosswords, labelled diagrams and arcade games. It seeks to disrupt the publisher-driven model of paid-for “professionally” made educational content, by putting high-quality content creation in the hands of teachers and making that teacher-made content, freely accessible through our online community.

We are a small team with big ambitions, who work remotely across the world. Our 15 million monthly users are rapidly proliferating. We’ve got a product that works and we’re building for the long-term. We want people who want to stick around, grow with us and help make games-based learning accessible to all.

Technologies we use: HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Canvas API, WebAudio API, C#, ASP.NET MVC, MS-SQL, Azure, Selenium, TeamCity CD

We are an equal opportunities employer. We support flexible working arrangements.

Application by CV. Tell us which aspect of the site interests you and where you think you could contribute the most.

Real applicants only - please do not contact us if you represent an agency.

Spreedly is a rapidly growing, payments technology firm, with headquarters located in downtown Durham, North Carolina.  We are a stable, growth stage company with a team that enjoys working together and is remote friendly and inclusive. Our culture is based around our dedication to a meaningful work/life balance, and our commitment to that is reflected in the way we've structured the company, as well as the benefits and perks that we offer to employees.

We've developed a powerful infrastructure that is central to the massive and growing payments market. We're growing incredibly fast too. In fact, we just raised $75M from Spectrum Equity. And we're processing over one million transactions per day.

Spreedly is seeking an experienced Support Engineer to join our team, learn all about Spreedly and begin contributing quickly. Our thorough API documentation, ease of implementation, and timely responses are just a few reasons our customers love Spreedly. We are a lean, quickly evolving team that isn’t afraid to reflect on process, approach, and tools to make sure we’re providing the smoothest experience for users in the most efficient way as we scale our team. We will look to you for meaningful feedback on product, user experience, internal processes, and beyond.

We are looking for a strong communicator who demonstrates the ability to prioritize, present solutions and take initiative. You listen with curiosity and a desire to learn, are patient and can see the big picture.

A typical day might include running API calls to troubleshoot a customer issue, combing code (a lot of Ruby) to verify product behavior, updating documentation to provide clarity on said behavior, and running scripts to unblock customers. Outside of the queue, you’ll have opportunities to own projects that help our team scale and develop new skills.

What you'll do

  • Research and troubleshoot implementation questions and issues, driving self-service where possible
  • Create and maintain documentation to aid in customer education and self-service
  • Assist new customers in the migration of their data to Spreedly

  • Track feature requests, deeply understanding the customer use case, value and impact

  • Discover, analyze and communicate gaps in the customer experience

We're looking for someone with

  • Experience working with REST APIs, HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • A history of supporting technical customers
  • Excitement for how quality customer interactions drive business growth
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive and take ownership in loosely structured environments
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new languages and technologies

Nice to haves

  • Web development experience
  • Experience at a growth stage SaaS company
  • Experience supporting developers
  • Familiarity with the payments industry

What we offer

  • Outstanding medical and dental benefits (we pay 100% of monthly premiums for employees + families)
  • Life and long-term disability insurance
  • Medical and dependent care FSA
  • Optional vision insurance
  • Open PTO policy
  • Tues./Thurs. in-office days- the rest of the week employees are free to work wherever they choose
  • Paid lunches on in-office days
  • 12 weeks paid Family Leave
  • Matching 401k plan
  • Monthly digital lifestyle stipend
  • Yearly paid professional development
When applying, please include a cover letter in the Additional Information section and tell us a little bit about yourself.

This position is open to a local candidate (Durham, NC) or a remote candidate. Currently we are unable to hire in CA, NY, or WA.

Due to the sensitive nature of what Spreedly does- handling payment data- candidates must complete a successful background check. If you have concerns along those lines, please discuss with us sooner rather than later- we do not want you to waste time in the hiring process and get disqualified at the end if we can help it.

Spreedly is an equal opportunity employer. We actively work to drive out even unintentional discrimination in our hiring processes via practices like blindly graded work samples and structured interviews.

Thank you for your interest in our company, because of the high volume of resume flow, we will only respond to those candidates that we think will be a potential fit.

Senior Developer Content Designer

senior java javascript html css testing May 05
Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Information is a powerful and essential element of the user experience. For developers, this is even more true – without great documentation, it is nearly impossible to build new apps, services, and products.

At Atlassian, we look at the way we communicate technical information to our internal and third-party developers as an end-to-end journey. This journey begins as developers get started with building on the Atlassian stack, and ends with a living set of reference of materials to answer any question they may have as they build, launch, monitor, and support their work.

This isn't a traditional technical writing role. As part of the design team at Atlassian, you'll be empowered to experiment with a variety of approaches to creating information in the UI, documentation, supporting materials, and anywhere else our developers experience information. We are also constantly working to find better ways to measure what makes an information experience successful. You'll be using these methods and suggesting new methods we've not thought of to constantly challenge ourselves and improve our craft. You'll be pushing hard, bold, and aggressively to make Atlassian recognized for how we approach content experience. You'll be accountable for proactively identifying and ensuring resolution of issues impacting content effectiveness across experiences in both product and supporting product properties – particularly around information architecture, content strategy, and standards.

More about you
This job is for someone who thinks bigger than traditional software documentation. You can explain complex features and capabilities in ways that are useful for experienced audiences, but which are also helpful and approachable for more novice readers getting into the domain or learning a new API.
We're looking for candidates who love to work with teams to ensure they're providing a great information experience. Someone who's ready to not only own the documentation for their domain, but also contribute to and help drive projects that benefit the larger documentation community here at Atlassian.

When you join the team, you'd be expected to have:

  • proficiency in technical writing skills
  • ability to read, write, and verify code samples (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python)
  • familiarity with standard web-based publishing tools (e.g., Markdown, HTML, CSS, XML)
  • familiarity with standard developer tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
  • experience documenting APIs, writing code samples, tutorials, and other technical content related to building or extending products and apps

and ideally, we'd hope you'd have:

  • a knack for creatively engaging with developer audiences
  • experience working on cross-product documentation
  • an ability to challenge yourself and others
  • experience in improving or building both information architectures and content strategies for documentation
  • experience with usability testing, card sorting, and other techniques to ensure that your work is not just accurate, but that it's also effective for your target audience
More about our team:

We believe information is critical to any user experience. When you join Atlassian as a Content Designer, you become part of the Atlassian Design organization. Content Design includes everything needed to understand, support, market, and use that product. You won't own all the content, but you'll help make sure the stories we tell are consistent and create a great experience for our customers.

Wordpress Developer
wordpress javascript css php aws May 01

Hi-de-ho stranger. Biteable here. Let’s not be strangers. We need a fabulous new someone in our life to write Wordpress code and make our site ba-ba-beautiful. We’re friendly and flexible. And we totally understand if you come complete with kids, pets, side-hustles, and other #adulting stuff.

All about you

You say ‘yes’ to CSS. And HTML. You don’t brag about it, but you’ve received plenty of compliments for your semantic markup and CSS skills.

You Wordpress with finesse. Some people make an awful mess when they write code for the ‘press. This isn’t you. You’re an artisan. You write code with elegance. And you’ve got years of exquisite, custom Wordpress builds to back it up.

Design could be your dirty secret. While you’re great at coding the things, your passion is for making them stunning.

You’ve got the skills. In PHP and Javascript, that is. And if you haven’t already, you’re into learning Typescript.

You’re a Git. But, in a good way. You’ve used Git and Github so much that it feels like a second home.

You know what AWS is. And you’ve probably deployed Wordpress on it. If you haven’t, you’re open to learning.

You’re most of the above. But not necessarily all. You can feel in your tummy if this is the right job for you.

You’re committed to learning. You love filling your head with new stuff and taking on new projects that expand your horizons.

All about the role

You’ll manage your own schedule. While you’ll need to maintain regular work hours (for the benefit of your team), you’ll be free to lay your day out the way you like it. Need to get the kids from school or take your granny to the shops? No problem. And you can work from wherever you want, be that your kitchen or one of our offices.

You’ll play a valuable role. You’ll lead on code for the Biteable Wordpress site. You’ll work closely with our product designers to synchronize design with our product site.

You’ll work collaboratively with the marketing and content teams. Together, you’ll roll out content and functionalities that wow users and boost conversions.

You’ll share code ownership with your playmates in the development team. Together, you’ll maintain a robust code review process and troubleshoot any thorny issues that crop up from time-to-time.

All about us

We are Biteable, a tech start-up that makes (jaw-dropping) videos possible for everyone. We stand apart in our market thanks to our dedication to studio-quality content and our passion for simplicity. Since our launch in 2014 we’ve:

  • Created a community of over 6 million users
  • Rendered more than 10 million videos
  • Raised $3.9 million in venture capital

We’re growing fast and have offices in Melbourne and Hobart, Australia, with remote team members scattered around the world. We are informal, structurally flat, and fun to work with.

All about our culture We are committed to the happiness of our team. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We like it when everyone feels supported and free to create.

Our team members genuinely care about each other and define themselves as rigorous, respectful, open, supportive, honest, and egoless. Here are a few quotes that we didn’t make up:

“I’m thankful for the flexibility Biteable gives me around my family commitments. I really like that my team is open to new ideas and processes. And I enjoy that I get to work on a variety of problems with a mix of people with diverse areas of expertise.”

“The development team is a great group of people. They’re smart and interested in doing high-quality work, but foster a social and supportive atmosphere, too.”

“Biteable's team of smart, funny, engaged and caring people makes my work here enjoyable, every day. Being close to decisions and decision-makers helps me make an impact on our work.”

How to apply

We want you to start soon, so our application process is quick. To apply, dispatch your CV, portfolio, and a short cover letter about why you and Biteable fit together like Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little.

We’ll review it and get back to you quick smart. We’ll then do two rounds of informal interviews. If it feels right for all of us, you’ll be on board faster than you can say ‘third-party plugin’.

Senior Software Engineers, Full Stack or Front-end specialists at Globavista Ltd
angular-js angular dot net sql-server asp.net-mvc full stack Apr 17

At Globavista, we are passionate about our technology. For many years we have been fully remote with empowered developers using their unique skills to bring us forward in the maritime marketplace.

We are currently growing - in large part due to this ethos.

We need smart, passionate people to join us in the next evolution of our highly successful product.

In return you will have 100% home working (flexible hours) on a challenging, interesting product with a very competitive salary + benefits.

Whilst located in the UK, we are now working with major US vendors so would consider US candidates if they were a good fit.

Job Description

We are looking for several candidates, there are 2 main roles we will consider, a full-stack and a front-end specialist.

We currently have a rich SPA written in AngularJS 1.4+ (with Typescript). This is in the process of being moved over to Angular, so a front-end specialist would be instrumental in driving that forward but also help add new features where necessary to a large complex application.

A full stack developer would need AngularJS experience and Angular would be a bonus for that role.  The full-stack developer will have good .NET skills and excellent SQL Server skills as the nature of our application means we deal with millions of ship positions every hour, therefore a full-stack developer needs to understand coding for performance, especially SQL Server performance.  In addition, as we move our architecture forward, someone well versed in NoSQL dbs would be advantageous.

We have an ASP.NET MVC website and several services which are in the process of getting containerized. Any full stack engineer that has skills in docker / aws / devops could really make a difference in that area as well.

Front-end specialist candidates will have:

  • AngularJS / Typescript
  • Angular (front-end specialist only)
  • Excellent HTML / CSS / LESS or SASS / Bootstrap

Front-end specialist desirable skills:

  • .NET / C#
  • SQL Server T-SQL

Full-stack candidates will have:

  • AngularJS / Typescript
  • HTML / CSS / LESS or SASS / Bootstrap
  • Very good T-SQL (including performance, execution plan analysis etc)

Full-stack desirable skills:

  • Angular
  • .NET Core
  • Kafka
  • Redis
  • AWS / Docker / Microservices
