We believe that AI has the power to transform every aspect of our lives -- from healthcare to agriculture. The exponential impact of artificial intelligence will mean mammograms can happen quickly and cheaply irrespective of the limited number of radiologists there are in the world and growers will know the instant that disease hits their farm without even being there.

At Labelbox, we’re building a platform to accelerate the development of this future. Rather than requiring companies to create their own expensive and incomplete homegrown tools, we’ve created a training data platform that acts as a central hub for humans to interface with AI. When humans have better ways to input and manage data, machines have better ways to learn.

When companies have strong cash flow performance they can shift from short-term acrobatics to long-term growth and innovation. These are the teams that change the world by being freed to optimize for all of their stakeholders, including their employees, business partners, and environment.

The Opportunity

Cash flow is the toughest financial statement to understand but it’s fundamental to funding your own growth. We build the most intuitive and actionable tools for companies to optimize cash flow performance. Our platform analyzes billions of dollars of B2B transactions each year, users spend 70% of their workday in Tesorio, and we save finance teams thousands of hours. As a result, they can invest more confidently and anticipate their capital needs further in advance.

We’re growing quickly and working with the world’s best companies and the largest bank in the US. We recently raised a $10MM Series A led by Madrona Venture Group and are backed by top investors including First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Floodgate. We’re also backed by tenured finance execs, including the former CFOs of Oracle and NetSuite

We’re now looking to hire talented Software Engineers in Latin America to join our growing team to help us implement a high volume of curated ideas and reinvent how complex financial transactions can be simplified. • Balance technical and UX debt against launching and iterating on new features quickly. Maintain a high bar for accessibility and performance as core to a good user experience.

Who Are You?

  • You have at least 4 years experience as a PM working on consumer web and/or mobile applications.

  • You welcome the challenge of defining success for products that cannot be easily judged by A/B test results. You have strong product instincts, and know how to validate them with data.
At Medium, we foster an inclusive, supportive, fun yet challenging team environment. We understand the value of diverse backgrounds and respect the healthy expression of diverse opinions. That’s why we’re gathering a whole bunch of smart, big-hearted people to create a new kind of healthcare company — one that combines compassion, health insurance, clinical care, and technology seamlessly.

We want to throw the long ball with people we love for a cause we believe in. Life is short. Join us.

A bit about this role:

In our mission to take care of every member like they were our own mom or dad, we believe that data is a super power to deliver great service and clinical care. You will be the data engineer who crafts our data and makes it readily available for our complex downstream data systems to consume. As a member of the data engineering team, you will work closely with many teams within the company to determine how best to prepare our data in a scalable, flexible way for complex analysis to take place.

Whether you have a health care background or not, we are excited to learn from and share knowledge with you. Our leadership team includes seasoned alumni of healthcare and technology organizations spanning the public and private sector.  Our co-founders deeply understand and care about good technology: Todd Park co-founded Athenahealth, a multi-billion-dollar health care technology company, and served as CTO of the U.S.; Ed Park was athenahealth's founding engineer and served as its CTO, COO, and President of Services.

We want a data engineer who has a passion for data and problem solving. We are looking for folks who want to work in a complex system and who are passionate about building great technology to solve problems for users—our members, our colleagues, and ourselves.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing, maintaining, and QA’ing ETL jobs
  • Maintaining and scaling our ETL tooling process to ensure flexibility for future enhancements
  • Ensuring data integrity and accuracy within our various data pipelines
  • Tuning and implementing improvements—in terms of quality, reliability, scalability, or data access—for our production data stores
  • Spearheading the implementation of data governance procedures within the company
  • Working with Product, Marketing, Software Engineering, and Data Science teams to build out necessary data infrastructure
  • Bringing an analytical mindset to every conversation across the company

Attributes to success:

  • Experience coupled with a willingness to learn new things
  • Comfort with uncertainty and a desire to be close to business problems
  • Desire to contribute individually, with the ability both to self-direct work and to collaborate with others on the technology team
  • Understanding of many technologies down to first principles, and a desire to add more to the list

Required skills and experience:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • 7+ years working as an individual technical contributor
  • 5+ years experience with databases and data engineering
  • 3+ years experience working with software engineering teams, plus exposure to different programming languages
  • Bonus: Prior background with AWS services (e.g. lambda, S3, Redshift); Experience with other Cloud Data Warehouses (Big Query, Snowflake); Experience with Python; Experience with Terraform; Exposure to CI/CD for software systems
If you love running towards complex challenges and transforming them into solutions, if you want to make a potentially huge impact on many lives, and if you are looking for a disruptive startup with an inspiring and talented team, Devoted Health may be the place for you!

Devoted is an equal opportunity employer.  We are committed to a safe and supportive work environment in which all employees have the opportunity to participate and contribute to the success of the business. About Labelbox

Labelbox’s mission is to build the best products for humans to advance artificial intelligence.

We are building software infrastructure for industrial data science teams to do data labeling for the training of neural networks. When we build software, we take for granted the existence of collaborative tools to write and debug code. The machine learning workflow has no standard tooling for labeling data, storing it, debugging models and then continually improving model accuracy. Enter Labelbox. Our vision is to become the default software for data scientists to manage data and train neural networks in the same way that GitHub or text editors are defaults for software engineers.

Current Labelbox customers include American Family Insurance, Lytx, Airbus, Genius Sports, Keeptruckin and more. Labelbox is venture backed by A16Z, Gradient Ventures, Kleiner Perkins and First Round Capital and has been featured in Tech Crunch, Venture Beat, Fortune, and Forbes.

  • Constantly identify opportunities for providing self-service tooling to our internal team

About You

  • 5+ years experience working in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or a similar role
  • An ability to code complex SQL queries. Python a plus

  • Experience using and building solutions to support multiple reporting and data user tools (Chartio, Tableau, Looker)
  • Advanced data visualization and SQL skills

Rather than requiring companies to create their own expensive and incomplete homegrown tools, we’ve created a training data platform that acts as a central hub for humans to interface with AI. WHY CHANCE ?

Did you know that about 37% of people say that they have a “bullshit job” and about 60% of people on average feel disengaged from their work? Did you know that, despite all the advances in technology for online job search in the last 25 years, today the average time a person is unemployed is still about the same as in 1995 when the internet was just getting started? Why has technology not helped with this problem which is especially severe today?

At Chance, we believe that this is because job search is not only a technological problem for both candidates and employers. That’s why we’re building a unique solution that mixes psychology, data science and cutting edge front end technology and design.

Technologies evolve over time for good reason. We try out new technologies all the time, embrace the good ones quickly and adapt them to our business cases. Today, this means we use TypeScript and do GraphQL requests, tomorrow it could be something different and more powerful.

We're a team that values weekly releases, code quality, guidelines, CI, and testing. We ship aggressively, we test things, we iterate. We consider the aesthetic beauty, readability and consistent standards of the code as important as shipping it. Because beautiful and readable code is scalable code.

We're a quickly growing company. Spending time and effort everyday in a stagnating company is no fun. See how we grow everyday and thrive at the same speed by solving different problems every week. We target such as wide market that variety is king in our day to day tasks. You won't get bored by owning the same small chunks of a codebase for years.

We are revolutionising the job market. That requires us to work on problems never solved before, problems that constantly challenge technology limitations. Due to the nature of our product, it's fundamental for us to work in multidisciplinary teams with domain experts that would never be in a regular product team. Embrace their skills and broaden your knowledge.

Last but most important, you have real, tangible, impact on people everyday. Every week we receive feedback from people about how impactful the experience has been for them. Your code reaches people deeply in their heart and helps them find a better future.
