About You

You love being in charge of optimization and automation across multiple platforms and applications. Driving consistency for deployment and build processes is second nature for you. You have worked with teams before on large and demonstrable projects (preferably built on with AWS and familiarity with languages such as: Java, Ruby, Node. You’re also familiar with frameworks like Docker, Vagrant and Selenium Webdriver.  You have great skills with AWS and managing containers in AWS (AWS Fargate, AWS ECS  AWS EKS). It would be nice if you had experience or knowledge in GCP and/or Azure .You understand how to set up a Continuous Deployment pipeline. You understand Agile software development and DevOps practices, and can work closely with QA teams to optimize your code. 

You will have command line experience with Linux including writing bash scripts. Networking fundamentals and programming skills in Python, Ruby, Java, or similar language. You have experience with VPCs, ELBs, RDS, Cloudwatch, EC2, and Lambda. Configuration Management experience with Terraform and Ansible or similar (Chef, Puppet, Salt). You can also do Setup and management of a Kubernetes cluster, including writing Dockerfiles and Helm templates. You are able to do Open-source monitoring experience (Prometheus / Grafana preferred). You have experience with Database administration of PostgreSQL or similar.

Your engineering projects will allow you to work closely with development teams that will focus on understanding customers' needs and translating those needs from product specifications into functional, production ready code. Main project

Our main project is a learning management system (LMS) which allows learners to enroll and take courses online. Our primary customers are healthcare workers who are required to maintain their licenses by taking courses to get CEU’s (continuing education units)

This project has a frontend served with node, built with angular 2+ which consumes our backend application via RESTful API maintained by other team members. The backend is mostly php but you won’t need to touch that unless you really want to.

What you will be doing

  • Adding new features to our LMS frontend application. This includes all UI/UX, design to development.
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand our clients needs and propose solutions.
  • Design functional user interfaces to meet those needs
  • You bring your own unique skill set to
    the table and collaborate with others to accomplish your goals.
  • Develop components backed by tests, code quality and tests are HIGHLY valued here, you will have time to make sure it is done right!
  • Cleaning existing tightly coupled components that where not done right the first time…
  • Migrate old features out of the legacy application. Best not to touch it lest it break, so just re-make it the right way!
  • We are all about continuing education, you will be provided the time resources to learn and grow and we expect you to do so!
  • You will be the lead frontend engineer, expected to mentor those under you.
  • Review other team members pull requests and respond to feedback on your own.
  • Prepare release candidates and respond to testing feedback (product owner manually tests things before they are approved to deploy)

We launched in January 2019 and since then have grown at - quite frankly - a ridiculous pace. Our technology is already installed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, on six continents and categorises more than 1 billion data points.

We are a growing team of exceptional people split across engineering, product and commercial that have built a fantastic, remote-but-far-from-distant community.

Where is Impala going?

We’re supported by some of the best investors in the business, the early stage backers behind Deliveroo, PillPack, SecretEscapes, Zoopla, Trivago and more. They’re on board because of our vision - revolutionizing a $1.6 trillion dollar market that’s been out-of-date for 20 years.

A brief overview of what you’ll be up to in this role:

As chief architect, you will act as the technical authority in a top-tier engineering team, ensuring that our technology can meet both immediate and future needs. You will report to (and work alongside) our VP of Engineering. 

Technology sits at the heart of our business, which makes this a pivotal role with key responsibilities: 

  • You will lead on technology strategy & prioritization, managing short term technical risks and long term investment in our stack
  • You will be accountable for technical quality at Impala, including the reliability, security, and extensibility of our services and data 
  • You will ensure that monitoring, metrics and SRE practices are in place across all teams and services, to measure and meet high service SLA’s / expectations 
  • You will be the direct leader of an enablement group, which provides specialist  technical/DevOps/SecOps support to our development teams
  • You will provide technical direction and mentorship across teams to support the development of individuals 

You should join us if: 

  • You have 10+ years of relevant and diverse product and engineering experience, with a period of executive-level responsibility at an organization with a strong engineering culture
  • You are an expert in the architectural design, development, and operation of large scale, high availability services 
  • You have demonstrated experience with modern web services, distributed service-oriented architectures and services that handle large quantities of data, across multiple different stacks. 
  • You aren’t afraid to get hands-on when necessary to demonstrate an approach / principle

Where in the world will you be working?

This is a remote position. This means you can work from anywhere +/- 2 Hours of London, timezone wise (and less than a 3 hour flight).We are a remote-first company, our whole engineering team is fully distributed! This was a very deliberate choice to prioritise work-life balance and ensure we’re able to accommodate the best people in Europe. We have loads of remote initiatives to ensure you’re fully setup!:

Requirements

The Enterprise Cloud Migrations Manager will wear many hats and will be committed to helping large customers migrate with ease. In addition, they’ll also serve as the voice of the customer internally and issues/drive insights that will craft product strategy and improve our customer success processes.

Common activities that a Customer Success Manager for Cloud Migrations will conduct:

  • Research and qualify inbound customers are "migration ready" based on their license profile and shared information;
  • Conduct discovery during the customer migration process to assess and understand their use case, migration needs and any potential roadblocks to migrating;
  • Advise customers on how to plan/prepare for migrations from On-Premise to Cloud;
  • Ensure customers partner with Technical Support for troubleshooting and to assist with the data migrations;
  • Liaise with multiple cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Customer Success Managers, Enterprise Advocates and Loyalty Advocates, Technical Support, Customer Programs, and Product;
  • Communicate customer trends and feedback to internal teams to drive improvements to documentation, tooling, product and process; and platform;
  • Develop strategic recommendations for how to improve the migration experience for our customers.

On the first day, we’ll expect you to have:

  • 5+ years experience in a strategic customer-facing role within either customer support, customer success, a migrations-specific department, or other meaningful function;
  • Project management experience strong communication skills as well as a natural propensity for public speaking and experience with leading C-level conversations;
  • Ability to ask compelling/ leading questions, uncover common customer themes, and lead technical planning and project planning;
  • Ability to build presentations, write content, and present to large audiences;
  • Experience navigating a SaaS working environment with DevOps or IT teams and optimally completing large projects;
  • Broad experience working with Enterprise level customers, comfort in navigating a large organization and confirmed past involvement in building strong cross-functional relationships internally;
  • Empathy for customer anxiety and experience in helping customers deal with change management within their organization;
  • Proven strategic account management skills;
  • Ability to prioritize quickly and optimize process and tools to reduce inefficiencies and scale the program;

Main project

Our main project is a learning management system (LMS) which allows learners to enroll and take courses online. Our primary customers are healthcare workers who are required to maintain their licenses by taking courses to get CEU’s (continuing education units)

This project has a frontend served with node, built with angular 2+ which consumes our backend application via RESTful API maintained by other team members. The backend is mostly php but you won’t need to touch that unless you really want to.

What you will be doing

  • Adding new features to our LMS frontend application. This includes all UI/UX, design to development.
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand our clients needs and propose solutions.
  • Design functional user interfaces to meet those needs
  • You bring your own unique skill set to
    the table and collaborate with others to accomplish your goals.
  • Develop components backed by tests, code quality and tests are HIGHLY valued here, you will have time to make sure it is done right!
  • Cleaning existing tightly coupled components that where not done right the first time…
  • Migrate old features out of the legacy application. Best not to touch it lest it break, so just re-make it the right way!

Requirements

As a Shield in Atlassian’s Build Engineering team, you’ll be supporting Atlassian developers that use our world-class continuous integration (CI) systems. You’ll respond to queries that require a wide breadth of knowledge across many systems and tech stacks, and ensure our users' perspective is represented within our team. You’ll also be responding to incidents, analysing trends in user queries to help reduce support load on the team, running projects to reduce this load, and automating away repetitive work.
Roughly once every couple of months you'll be rostered on-call for a week to ensure the availability of our critical systems. Due to Atlassian’s global footprint, you may occasionally travel to our offices in the USA to connect with our Silicon Valley and Austin-based users.

CrowdStrike Falcon Host is a two-component security product. One component is a “sensor”: a driver installed on client machines that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon Host cloud. Job summary

Atlassian Technical Account Managers (TAMs) guide our largest customers to build and deliver amazing value to their business with our products. TAMs are technology and process champions, demonstrating thought leadership to frame the customer's strategic direction, and then orchestrate our customer's team past their hurdles so they may achieve their desired outcome. In this role, you'll cut across multiple technical disciplines and customer roles to guide the implementation, integration, and expansion of the customer's Atlassian stack of Confluence, Jira, and Developer Tools. You'll also reach into all parts of Atlassian to champion the user's cause and facilitate a deeper level of engagement with the customer. You will help our strongest promoters showcase their successes to their peers, and serve as the tip of the spear in growing the reach of our technologies for new use cases and markets.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Experience working with large customers in a consulting or technical evangelist capacity, especially in the software or developmental tools industry
  • Must have at least 3-5+ years technical and consulting experience with Atlassian products in the Enterprise or Fortune 5000 space. In particular, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira Align, Bamboo, Crowd
  • Experience with On-Premise implementation of Atlassian tools preferred, Atlassian Cloud experience is a bonus

At BloodHub we are focused on helping blood centers and hospitals maximize the efficiency of their interactions.   Our project managers work closely with our customers to identify their business objectives.  These business objectives are then presented to the engineering team for implementation. As an experienced full stack developer you'll have latitude to present a solution you feel maximizes the business objectives while maintaining the integrity of the system.

Our team is remote and this allows engineers to work flexible hours at a place of their choosing.  We first try to put out any fires (there aren't many), quash bugs and then build features.  We lean heavily on test harnesses to minimize regressions and CI to maximize automation. We avoid meetings and regard email as a necessary communication tool.  The languages we use are mostly Ruby on Rails, Javascript, and CoffeeScript.  PostgreSQL is our main data store while MS-SQL is used for customer integrations. The tools we lean on are Cucumber, Rspec, GitHub and CircleCI.  Our migration to the Google Cloud platform is underway.

Your average day will start with checking in with the team and making sure no one has any immediate needs.  Usually there aren't any. You'll then be able to focus on your engineering tasks. As a full stack engineer this will include direct engineering work on the product, SQL based client integrations, code reviews and DevOps related work. You will be expected to make progress in a self-directed fashion without micromanagement. At the end of each day you should feel good about your work product, the company's direction and enjoy your free time.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • 10+ years of experience designing and building a production-level large scale web application.
  • Proven experience building responsive & intuitive front-end web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (we use React, Redux, Webpack, GraphQL and more).
  • Experienced building single-page applications in JavaScript/TypeScript 
  • Architect, design and Build complex user interfaces from the ground up using the latest web technologies – from gathering requirements, design, build, deploy and ownership.
  • You will own the front-end development for one or more of our product / services.
  • You are comfortable conducting code reviews and giving feedback to ensure high standards of code maintainability and extensibility
  • Address complex problems at both an application and system level
  • Experience building a service from the ground up is preferred – be product-focused, driving the design, development, and implementation in order to turn a user’s pain-points into simple and elegant solutions that are loved.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure and/or Microservices is preferred.

  • It's great, but not required, if you have:

As a senior cloud software engineer, you'll be leading the effort to design and develop our new SaaS offering, providing a web-based version of Luna to our clients. What You'll Do

As a senior cloud software engineer you'll be in charge of building the SaaS offering for Luna, hosting both the language and its IDE in the cloud. This will involve:

  • Working closely with the internal teams to design a secure and scalable SaaS architecture.
  • Developing a SaaS solution based upon that design with robust tooling and reliability, as well as inbuilt support for collaboration.
  • Hosting the architecture on a cloud provider without becoming too dependent on any one given platform.
  • Contributing to the evolution of this vibrant open-source project by bringing a new component to its ecosystem and product offering.

The Skills We're Looking For

We have a few particular skills that we're looking for in this role:

  • 3+ years experience in designing secure, scalable, and collaboration-ready SaaS architectures.
  • A strong commitment to security and scalability that permeates your approach to design.
  • Experience with Kubernetes deployment and administration using EKS.
  • Experience with Scala and Akka.
  • Practical knowledge about AWS networking and storage architectures, and how they integrate with Kubernetes.
  • Experience managing AWS resources using Terraform.
  • Experience working in an SRE capacity on monitoring, incident handling and continuous service improvement.
  • Experience building and delivering CI/CD pipelines to ensure service stability and reliability.
