MANAGE A TEAM OF SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING THE BACKEND FEATURES FOR COMPANY’S PROPRIETARY CONFLUENCE CLOUD PRODUCT. MANAGE A SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM WHICH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING A LARGE-SCALE REACT APPLICATION THAT COMPANY SHIPS TO CUSTOMERS WITHIN MINUTES. COORDINATE WITH COMPANY’S DESIGN AND PRODUCT MANAGEMENT TEAMS TO INFLUENCE THE DIRECTION OF THE CONFLUENCE PRODUCT AND ITS COMPONENTS, AND TO IMPROVE THE TEAMS’ STRATEGIES TO MEET INTERNAL COMPANY GOALS. MANAGE THE TEAM’S DEVELOPMENT IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE BUILDING UPON THE NEXT GENERATION OF COMPANY’S SOFTWARE INFRASTRUCTURE, AND TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE DELIVERING ADDED VALUE TO THE COMPANY'S CUSTOMERS THROUGH NEW IMPROVEMENTS TO THE COMPANY’S SOFTWARE PRODUCT OFFERINGS. RESPONSIBLE FOR BUILDING EFFECTIVE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAMS, EMPOWERING THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS, AND PUTTING THOSE GOALS INTO BROADER CONTEXT. UTILIZE KNOWLEDGE OF AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE WITH AMAZON WEB SERVICES (AWS) TO DEVELOP THE CONFLUENCE SOFTWARE PRODUCT. MENTOR PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT OF TEAM MEMBERS. HELP DEVELOP THEIR CAREERS AND ASSIGN THEM TO PROJECTS TAILORED TO THEIR SKILL LEVELS, PERSONALITIES, WORK STYLES, AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS. PROVIDE CONTINUOUS FEEDBACK, ADDRESS UNDERPERFORMANCE, AND RECOGNIZE THE INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF YOUR TEAM MEMBERS. HIRING, DEVELOPING AND RETAINING TOP TALENT AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVERALL TEAM STRUCTURE. WORK WITH DIRECT REPORTS, PEERS, ARCHITECTS AND PRODUCT MANAGERS TO MAINTAIN A PRIORITIZED BACKLOG AND CREATE SHORT TERM AND LONG-TERM GOALS. INSTILL A SPIRIT OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN THE TEAM'S CODE, ARCHITECTURE, AND PROCESSES. DEVELOP HIGHLY RELIABLE, SCALABLE, EXTREMELY HIGH-VOLUME, FAULT-TOLERANT PRODUCTION SYSTEM. BRINGING PRODUCTIVITY, QUALITY, AND COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE TO SW DEVELOPMENT BY SOLVING COMPLEX PROBLEMS IN COMPONENT/PRODUCT LEVEL CONDUCT DESIGN REVIEWS, AND CODE REVIEWS. FOLLOW GOOD CODING, TESTING AND DOCUMENTING PRACTICES SOFTWARE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AND TUNING.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
MASTER’S DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, OR A RELATED FIELD PLUS TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING; TWO (2) YEARS OF MANAGER EXPERIENCE; AND TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING SCALABLE PRODUCTION SYSTEMS.
ALTERNATE REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, OR A RELATED FIELD PLUS FIVE (5) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING; TWO (2) YEARS OF MANAGER EXPERIENCE; AND TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN BUILDING SCALABLE PRODUCTION SYSTEMS.
