Senior Product Designer, Agile

Full Time

Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

Atlassian is one of the fastest-growing software companies in the world, with millions of users across our products. We're making a substantial investment in experience design, endeavouring to make Atlassian products essential for all teams. We're growing our global design team and searching for passionate, talented designers to help us.

The Agile group focuses on helping unleash the potential of software teams around the world. We do this by helping them adopt agile practices and by making best-in-class tools to help manage their work, whether they’re an independent team or one of many agile teams working together toward a shared goal.

As a Senior Product Designer in the Agile group, you’ll work with a tight-knit, cross-functional team, and work collaboratively to build experiences our customers love. In this particular role, you will be focused on helping us design and build the future of Jira Software, our flagship product. You’ll be empowered to work across the end-to-end design process, including helping define vision, process and decisions, interaction design, user research and usability testing, and pixel-perfect quality assurance.

To be successful in this role, we'd expect you to have:

  • Extensive hands-on UX/product design experience where you have designed sophisticated or ideally, enterprise-level software applications
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration abilities, a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams, and the ability to collaborate with, influence, and impact different cross-functional partners and teams across the organisation
  • Ability to define projects and measures of success, test your assumptions and outcomes, and continuously incorporate feedback
  • Experience conducting and applying customer research, including design thinking, prototyping, and conceptual modelling
More about our team
Designers at Atlassian are responsible for the complete user experience, from early-stage research and ideation, through implementation and iteration based on key success metrics. We are always growing, learning, and adapting,in and out of the office. You'll be joining a team that is highly engaged and direct. We help each other to constantly improve our work and reach our potential. We're dedicated to Agile methodology and big believers in 'lean', which means we don't do documentation for documentation's sake. We also know all too well the importance of validating assumptions about users and use various types of testing to ensure we're right (or discover where we're wrong). It's all about improving our user's experience, no matter who or where it is.
