Accounts Receivable Specialist

Quartzy is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing Accounting and Finance team to help support the function to maximize efforts and efficiency. 

Quartzy is a 100% distributed team so this role can be done anywhere in the US. 

About You
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will do end to end management of assigned accounts receivable portfolio from establishing credit to cash collections. This position with interact with external and internal customers to maximize sales, have a positive impact of cash flow, minimize bad debt, help reduce days sales outstanding and create a positive outcome for both the customer and Quartzy.

What You'll Do

  • Majority of time will be spent on collection activities: calling customers, sending statements, sending reminder notices and invoices, and helping with the Cash Apps team to resolve unapplied customer payments and discrepancies.
  • Maintain aging past due balances at an acceptable level in line with the company objectives.
  • Take the lead in collections of an assigned portfolio by working closely with Sales and other team members throughout the Quartzy organization.
  • Collect on all aged outstanding accounts via telephone and written correspondence in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations in accordance with payment due dates.
  • Identify & resolve invoicing problems, account reconciliations and reduce accounts receivable delinquency.
  • Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements.
  • Maintain an updated status report for all overdue accounts, meet, communicate, and follow up effectively with management.
  • Organize credit evaluations and perform initial credit recommendations for customer approval.
  • Review credit requests for extended or new terms and propose appropriate actions.
  • Recommend credit hold on delinquent accounts.
  • Maintain accurate customer profile information.
  • Recommend accounts for Bad Debt Write off/3rd Party Collections.
  • Other accounting duties may be assigned, based on business requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 2-5 years of accounting and finance experience working in high volume B2B collections
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-2 years Credit experience nice to have
  • Team oriented, problem solver and ability to multi-task
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned accounts
  • Excellent follow-up and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Stripe, Zendesk and other various programs/systems/software is a plus
  • Computer-savvy
