People Analytics Business Partner

You will report to the Global Head of People Analytics & Insights to build and expand the reach and role of people data among leaders and managers at Udemy. As a People Analytics Business Partner, you work closely with the People Team and Business to action and empower People leaders to integrate data into their daily workflow to drive business outcomes. You will have the opportunity to provide guidance and expertise on how data, when actioned, helps improve people strategy and the employee experience, including diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, retention, and talent development. The People Analytics Business Partner will be a part of this new function at Udemy growth story, with the opportunity to help shape the function based on the strategic vision and unique approach. You may also be involved in data-driven workforce planning, which includes the analysis of the total cost of the workforce. You ensure workforce planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling are regularly and consistently performed, and results are communicated to stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive adoption of people analytics products and technology across the organization and coach others on how to think about workforce data
  • Co-own the employee survey process with a focus on the design sharing/consulting on the methods and results of data
  • Translate talent and business issues into questions and hypotheses that can be tested with data
  • Analyze trends and identify new value-added data opportunities while ensuring a lens of Belonging Equity Diversity and Inclusion (BEDI) is kept with leveraging insights to enable better talent decisions throughout the enterprise
  • Communicate statistical analyses and results, along with implications, to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Aid in the build-out of advanced analytics and data science capabilities within the team; while working effectively in a fast-paced global environment  
  • Maintain operational and process excellence on the team to ensure high-quality methods to gather and manage large datasets from multiple sources and analysis, transforming or cleaning data and maintaining data integrity across systems as necessary while meeting deliverable timelines
  • Lead the development and implementation of data analyses, people analytics technology solutions, visualizations, dashboards, global data dictionaries, and predictive analytics while identifying trends and recommendations to provide a story while unlocking insight
  • Leverage applicable people analytics technologies to provide analytics, insights, organizational network analysis, visualizations, and predictive analytics
  • Partner closely with various stakeholders for projects relating to people analytics to provide data-informed insight and scenario analysis about our workforce, people processes, and programs to enable better decisions that support objectives and strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Finance, Talent Acquisition, People Operations team to lead the development of Strategic Workforce Planning and Analytics model framework while conducting analysis and scenario planning and forecasting

We're excited about you because you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required); Masters/MBA/Ph.D/Ed.D  in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, Statistics/Mathematics, Business, Human Resources/Organizational Behavior or a related field with 3+ years of experience providing human capital analytics and insights services at an enterprise level.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience implementing, managing, and integrating data analytics and visualization tools and programs for HRExperience in People Strategy, People Technology, Data Science, HR, Statistics, Finance, and Analytics; experience as a human capital strategist or consulting (preferred)
  • Eagerness to learn and grow as a technologist and incorporate new tools into the practice of analytics
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, senior team members, and executives 
  • Working knowledge of managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using at least 2-3 of the following tools such as tools R, SQL, SPSS, Tableau, and Excel to drive analytics and assist in the enablement of client self-service.
  • Exposure or experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, text mining/natural language processing (NLP), or modeling high-dimensional data sets
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and consulting skills to be able to communicate both statistical analyses, insights, and results, along with risk implications, to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge or experience with research, practical implementation, and/or best practices in at least 2-3 of the following areas: talent acquisition, strategic workforce planning, retention, employee engagement and surveys, learning and development, performance management, belonging equity diversity, and inclusion,  total rewards/compensation (e.g., pay equity), finance, organizational development, industrial and organizational psychology/social psychology
  • Solid experience working with data and analytics and managing strategic workforce plans and a variety of people analytics projects
  • Experience/Exposure to enterprise technology implementation, program, project, and change management experience
  • Practical working experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud-based solutions and various technology stacks such as Workday, Visier, CultureAmp, Syndio, Greenhouse, etc is an asset (highly preferred)
