Pricing Strategy & Operations Manager

We are seeking a Pricing Strategy & Operations Manager to join our team! Select candidates may be considered for a Senior Manager level role. This role will be the second outside hire into the Business Operations team, and the first hire into our Pricing Strategy capability.

The Business Operations (Bus. Ops) team owns a number of strategic responsibilities for Rescale, collaborating closely with global Go-To-Market leadership, Finance, Product, and the other Operations teams. The Pricing Strategy & Operations Manager would directly work with the leadership team to deliver strong outcomes across the Business Operations mandate, including:

Pricing & Packaging Leadership

  • Opportunity to take the lead role in building out our Pricing Strategy capability within the Business Operations function
  • Work with the Rescale C-suite to design and optimize our pricing strategy; be the key point of contact for all major pricing & packaging OKR’s and initiatives
  • Partner with the Product team to price new features and drive pricing excellence within the product
  • Eventual management of Pricing & Packaging dedicated resources as part of the Business Operations team

Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Work with Global Sales Leadership to implement pricing policies and deliver strategic pricing proposals for our most critical transactions
  • Manage Rescale’s Deal Desk, supporting the resolution of critical cross-functional issues for our customers
  • Design new transaction models and programs to optimize GTM efficiency and impact

Business Analytics & Intelligence

  • Team with Finance, global GTM leadership, and other Business Operations team members to design, monitor, and report out on key pricing & margin KPI’s for Rescale
  • Use data to recommend process & business model operating improvements

At Rescale, this means you will work on and impact:

  • Conduct a gap-analysis of our current pricing program and design a strategy & process improvement roadmap
  • Research external best-in-class pricing & packaging principles and develop strategic recommendation plan
  • Drive all global GTM regions (AMER, EMEA, APAC) and our channel business towards a unified set of pricing & operational efficiency standards
  • Manage our Deal Desk function and coordinate critical deal support across multiple functions
  • Become a trusted advisor to the GTM organization by partnering on large deal strategy
  • Develop a proactive cadence with Product team to price new features and determine the business requirements for new features around Pricing
  • Eventual management of other team members as the team grows

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent spoken & written communications abilities, including presentation building
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; significant quantitative analytics experience (Excel & Gsheets)
  • Demonstrated experience & success working in cross-functional environments and interacting with senior leaders
  • Ability to lead projects autonomously and manage stakeholders; prior project & program management experience
  • Previous experience in early stage technology preferred
  • Up to 7 years of experience, 4-6 preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other masters degree not required
  • Management experience not required
  • Preferred prior domain experience in one of the following:
  • A) Pricing & Packaging functional experience
  • B) Technology startup operations experience
  • C) Professional services experience (consulting, finance)

About your team at Rescale and who you will work with:

  • Direct Manager: Patrick Duff, Director, Head of Business Operations. Leads Business Operations & Pricing & Packaging functions for Rescale. Manages the quarterly operating cadence for the company. Designs and drives strategic go-to-market initiatives.
  • Head of Operations: Gabe Rothman, VP of Operations. Business Operations rolls up to Operations and teams with the other Operations capabilities (e.g., Sales Ops, Partner Ops, etc.) on go-to-market management & process improvement projects
  • Chief Operating Officer: Matt McKee, COO. Business Operations ultimately reports into the GTM organization with the other Operations functions and supports go-to-market strategy & effectiveness
  • Head of FP&A: Matt Huang, Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Business Operations teams with Finance on pricing strategy, margin strategy, business forecasting, and annual planning among other critical tasks
