Auth0
linux aws testing May 28
Auth0 is a pre-IPO unicorn. We are growing rapidly and looking for exceptional new team members to add to our teams and will help take us to the next level. One team, one score.

We never compromise on identity. You should never compromise yours either. We want you to bring your whole self to Auth0. If you’re passionate, practice radical transparency to build trust and respect, and thrive when you’re collaborating, experimenting and learning – this may be your ideal work environment.  We are looking for team members that want to help us build upon what we have accomplished so far and make it better every day.  N+1 > N.

Auth0 has a dedicated Release team which manages the transformation of raw source code into deployable artifacts, and determines the strategies used for safely and correctly releasing software into production. This includes packaging code into deployable artifacts to be used by the runtime, building on top of the ‘raw’ deployment APIs offered by the runtime to create appropriate strategies for different services, managing the overall cadence of releases, developing tools to help product engineers visualize the status of deployments, developing versioning strategies for code and config, and managing the storage, publication, and retention of deployable artifacts.

We are looking for curious, engaging and passionate software engineers that want to build and work with services and infrastructure that manage Release capabilities. Among others projects this team will be working on:

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain services to deliver Build and Release capabilities for Engineering teams

  • Maintain, automate and scale our CI and CD infrastructure
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation

Requirements

  • Design and build services
  • Write clean, readable, and maintainable code (preference for Go, Node or Python)
  • Prototype and build proof of concepts with different technologies to understand trade-offs
  • Have experience with patterns and techniques for software integration and delivery
  • Enjoy being part of a highly collaborative, remote first environment
  • Invested in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Extra points:

  • Have the ability to influence development teams and evangelize best practices
  • Have a passion for infrastructure as code and config management tools
  • Are familiar with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, Packer or similar
  • Are familiar with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with configuring and maintaining Linux servers in production
Auth0’s mission is to help developers innovate faster. Every company is becoming a software company and developers are at the center of this shift. They need better tools and building blocks so they can stay focused on innovating. One of these building blocks is identity: authentication and authorization. That’s what we do. Our platform handles 2.5B logins per month for thousands of customers around the world. From indie makers to Fortune 500 companies, we can handle any use case.

We like to think that we are helping make the internet safer.  We have raised $210M to date and are growing quickly. Our team is spread across more than 35 countries and we are proud to continually be recognized as a great place to work. Systems Engineer - Team Observability

golang python linux cloud aws May 19
Atlassian is continuing to hire for all open roles with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.

Get a kick out of working with data at scale and providing solutions for others? Come join us in Observability where we are responsible for managing the services that power real-time monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting for teams at Atlassian.

Work closely with numerous teams to help them understand what data should be collected and how it should be interpreted. Ensure we can predict issues / outages before they occur and detect them faster when they do.

By providing ongoing education for engineers, and by building visibility tools and systems, we enable teams to evolve their monitoring as their services change. Our work helps to ensure a reliable and consistent user experience by allowing teams to understand how their products and services are performing on a global scale around the clock. Our complete offering of services is listed in Atlassian Observability Stack.

We need you to have:

  • Experience in managing cloud infrastructure platforms, particularly AWS Kinesis, EC2, S3.
  • Experience in automation/config-as-code such as Ansible, Terraform, puppet, CloudFormation.
  • Development experience or interest in languages such as Python, Golang or Java
  • Knowledge and experience administrating Linux operating systems

We want you to have:

  • A knowledge of the monitoring, tracing & logging industry & tools
  • Ability to balance reactive and proactive work
  • Interest in supporting others get more done
More about our team

All members of the Observability team are expected to be across development and infrastructure and able to deliver in both. With our squad approach to delivery. One month you could be head down in the technical details of one of our systems, and the next month helping our internal users not shoot themselves in the foot by using our tools incorrectly. We expect you to be able to take on both throughout the year. Some of the challenges you’ll be faced with is running the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Splunk installation, a metrics system that handles 60M metrics per seconds, liaising with multiple vendors to ensure we stay on top of what they are offering, or working on a data pipeline that handles hundreds of TB of data in a single day.

Commonly known as the most interesting and fun team within Atlassian and with the best t-shirts, Observability plays as hard as we work. We live in the tightly run development world as well as the chaos that is managing systems. We move from bug to production as quickly as you can code it (and provide the graph to prove it).

Future: Software Engineer
ruby linux redis api May 13
Spreedly is a rapidly growing, payments technology firm, with headquarters located in downtown Durham, North Carolina.  We are a stable, growth stage company with a team that enjoys working together and is remote friendly and inclusive. Our culture is based around our dedication to a meaningful work/life balance, and our commitment to that is reflected in the way we've structured the company, as well as the benefits and perks that we offer to employees.

We've developed a powerful infrastructure that is central to the massive and growing payments market. We're growing incredibly fast too. In fact, we just raised $75M from Spectrum Equity. And we're processing over one million transactions per day.

Principals only, no recruiters

Spreedly is a rapidly growing, payments technology firm, with headquarters located in downtown Durham, and we’re seeking a mid level Software Engineer to help with the next exciting phase of our growth.

You’ll be spending your time working on the engineering team building functionality for customers. Building product at Spreedly is somewhat unique in that our main product is a payments API used by other developers. So “designing a UI” often means thinking through how you would want a given API to work if you were using it, and when we “work on Javascript”, it’s usually building libraries for other developers to use in their own pages. “Adding a feature for a customer” could mean working through how to securely enable a developer to do something interesting with a credit card number. Super challenging and fun, we think! And since we work with credit card data on a daily basis, thinking about security is a way of life at Spreedly, as is building sustainable processes to keep that information safe (and our auditors happy).

Must Haves

  • The skills required to refactor and add features to a large but reasonably clean codebase.
  • An ability to design components and services with guidance from your senior peers.
  • The ability to operate semi-autonomously, sorting your own immediate priorities out of the ever-shifting needs of a startup environment.
  • A willingness to be a generalist and dig into new things you've never done before.
  • Excellent written communications, and a willingness to use them to document your work as necessary.
  • A quiet confidence in your ability to learn new tech as necessary. Today we work primarily with Ruby, Rails, Elixir, Phoenix, Riak, Kafka, Postgres, Redis, and Linux ... but are always pragmatically evaluating new languages and tools

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary + equity package
  • Outstanding medical and dental benefits (we pay 100% of monthly premiums for employees + families)
  • Life and long-term disability insurance
  • Medical and dependent care FSA
  • Open PTO policy
  • Tues./Thurs. in-office days- the rest of the week employees are free to work wherever they choose
  • Paid lunches on in-office days
  • 12 weeks paid Family Leave
  • Matching 401k plan
  • Monthly digital lifestyle stipend
  • Yearly paid professional development
We're constantly striving to have the fairest and most productive hiring process possible. We want to ensure that every candidate is treated equally and our interactions are designed with that goal in mind. If you want to get a sense for what your application process will look like, we'd encourage you to read the following: Stop Hazing Your Potential Hires and Programming Puzzles Are Not the Answer.

If this at all sounds interesting, we'd love to hear from you!

Spreedly is an equal opportunity employer that values a diverse culture as it’s an accurate reflection of the larger community and world in which we live. We actively work to drive out even unintentional discrimination in our hiring processes via practices like blindly graded work samples and structured interviews.

Due to the sensitive nature of what Spreedly does- handling payment data- candidates must complete a successful background check. If you have concerns along those lines, please discuss with us sooner rather than later- we do not want you to waste time in the hiring process and get disqualified at the end if we can help it.

What we do

Practichem, a Raleigh-based biotech firm focused on speeding antiviral cures to market, uses a patented protein chromatography instrumentation platform to deliver time and cost savings in the race to deliver critical viral health solutions worldwide.

Chromatography instrument technology lags well behind consumer tech. Many current scientific instruments are controlled by 1993-era software. When compared to current technology, chromatography instruments do not store and share data well. Studies reveal scientists spending the majority of their applied time extracting, converting, and loading data as part of their workflow. This is not a research science problem, or a chromatographic problem. This requires a software technology solution.

Practichem believes scientific instrument software should be as intuitive to use as a smart phone app. We’re setting a new standard for the laboratory by creating browser based software that runs our scientific instruments. Help us drive innovation to the laboratory for greater discovery and collaboration.

Who we are

Practichem is a different kind of company and we like it that way. We have incredibly high standards and hire exceptional people who enjoy pushing themselves to perform at their highest levels every day. Join our team and enjoy an environment that appreciates hard work and achievements.

What we expect

You appreciate a start-up environment free from bureaucracy. You thrive on open discussion. You have incredibly high standards for documentation and testing procedures. Organization and consistency are standard operating procedures for you.

This must excite you. You must be curious and practical. You will be expected to challenge and be challenged, to create and innovate. Practichem's work style is not for everyone.

As an EMEA based Linux Cloud Support Engineer you will be responsible for assessing the nature of product or service issues and resolving support problems for customers and partners through support tickets, live chat, and occasional voice calls. Don’t let the word “Support” fool you - this is not a typical call center role. Our customers are technically sophisticated and once a question gets to us search engines have failed to provide an answer. On any given day, you’ll be applying your knowledge of Linux with technologies like MySQL, DNS, CDNs, SSL, Redis, various programming languages, replication, integration with other systems and much more. Expect to learn something new every day.

Successful employees will collaborate with other team members, meet deadlines and test new ideas, tools, and tactics. We are looking for motivators and go-getters who will improve our processes, our products and ourselves. As one of our Cloud Support Engineers, you are our front line; when our customers think of how great Platform.sh is, they think of you.

In a given day you might:

  • Troubleshoot issues pertaining to the underlying infrastructure running customer applications.
  • Diagnose, debug and document issues in both applications and systems.
  • Deploy and configure cloud infrastructure resources.
  • Troubleshoot, reproduce and report bugs.
  • Become a product expert and work toward improving our customer facing documentation.
  • Participate in limited on-call shifts, providing timely responses to high priority tickets and incidents.
  • Work under limited supervision with considerable latitude for personal initiative.
  • Respond to customer inquiries through our ticketing solution, ZenDesk.
  • Participate in training teammates.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • This role is permanent and full time, 5 days a week
  • 3+ years combined of:
    • Linux system administration
    • Web development using PHP, Python, Ruby or Go. (However, this is not primarily a programming job)
    • Experience using git
    • Managing DNS
    • Functional knowledge of TLS and encryption
    • Demonstrating exceptional communication skills to provide clear and empathetic customer support

Additional Nice-to-Haves

  • Knowledge of nginx, Galera, GlusterFS, and Puppet
  • Experience with Magento, Symfony, TYPO3 and/or Drupal
  • Understanding of CDNs or Varnish and web caching strategies
  • Familiarity with IaaS solutions, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Compute Engine
  • Conversant in containerization technologies and techniques

Sound Like a Good Fit? We’re not expecting you to be an expert at all of the above, but if your skillset includes some of it and you’re interested in diving into the rest, we’d love to talk to you!

This is a remote job. Work from anywhere!

We are a worldwide distributed team and are looking for a candidate who can perform well working remotely. To be an effective performer as a CSE here at Platform.sh, you’ll need to be able to effectively collaborate across time zones while operating with a high level of independence and autonomy.
