Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, every Atlassian will have the choice to work from an office or from home.

Do you love staying ahead of the growth curve and experimenting with new software and environments? Get on board as an Atlassian Site Reliability Engineer.

As an Engineer in the Bitbucket Cloud Site Reliability Engineering team, you’ll build solutions to improve availability, performance and stability for the more than 1 million teams and 10 million developers in Bitbucket Cloud as well as automating away repetitive work. You'll be working on non-production and production environments, monitoring, data collection and configuration management, as well as disaster recovery planning, capacity engineering, reliability improvement initiatives and platform automation. You'll also respond to pings, pages and alerts to investigate issues in our products that you can really sink your teeth into. The best person for this role is someone that has a collaborative spirit - in our world, it’s not about being a hero and having all the answers, it’s about sometimes saying "I don't know" and working on finding solutions rather than starting with an assumption. The team needs someone who can ask questions, learn from others and turn chaos into order.

This role would be a great fit for someone with creative and innovative problem solving skills with a willingness to take ownership for the code you write all the way to production. You will develop and implement solutions that operate at scale - seeing your own technology efforts directly improve the reliability of our products. Our teams are empowered and expected to improve our products to truly deliver a reliable experience to customers. You will own development efforts in each and every sprint from planning to delivery to realize this goal and collaborate with different teams to review code.

One thing we promise: you’ll never be bored.

On your first day, you will have experience in:

  • Software development in Python
  • At least 2 year of hands on experience with AWS: CloudWatch, EC2, Load Balancing, Lambda, RDS, Route 53, S3, SQS, VPC.
  • Experience in automation - we don't want you doing repetitive work!
  • Experience monitoring distributed systems application architectures
  • Serious troubleshooting skills across different levels of the stack
  • Distributed version control internals (Git, Mercurial)
  • Understanding of Linux systems

We'd be super excited if you have:

  • Expertise in Golang or Java
  • Experience using Configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible or Puppet
  • Experience troubleshooting a continuous integration pipeline
  • A clear head in the presence of alerts
More about our team

Atlassian Site Reliability Engineering is a rapidly growing group within the organisation. We are in the process of building our teams, tools and systems as part of Atlassian's mission to build the best SaaS services in the world. This is a truly exciting team to join - we are currently or are planning to be involved with every technical team across Atlassian.

We enable Atlassian to go fast by providing real time feedback on production systems. We work side by side with the product family and platform developers to maintain and improve services and performance. We live the company values with a strong customer focus and possess a healthy sense of urgency. We are a heavily data driven team, utilising a variety of data collection, enrichment, analytics and visualisations to learn about our complex systems.

We also live the 'Play, as a team' value by having a strong focus on sharing learning experiences from the front line with the development teams. So, the options for people in the team are vast. If you like mastering a domain and going deep, we need you. If you can juggle three tasks and coordinate multiple people in the heat of an incident, we need you. If you love the benefits of process and methodical improvement, you will love it here. If you want to keep your head down, headphones on and bash out code to support the team, we have a spot for you too.

More about our benefits

Whether you work in an office or a distributed team, Atlassian is highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some fantastic perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, flexible working options, five paid volunteer days a year for your favourite cause, an annual allowance to support your learning & growth, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and lots more.

About the Role

At Chargify, our engineering team is primarily comprised of full-Stack Ruby on Rails developers organized into Feature Teams. Each team is lead by an Engineering Manager and works closely with a dedicated Product Manager to build features specifically targeting one of our core User Personas. As an engineer on the team, you will work alongside your team to build new features and works towards increasing the quality of the code and paying down technical debt.

How We Work

We follow a two-week sprint rhythm. We keep daily stand-ups short and focused. At the end of each two-week sprint, engineers take a day to invest in their own technical skills. We prioritize refactoring and platform work to keep the quality of our codebase high.

Our Stack

Chargify’s core offering is backed by a large but well-loved Ruby on Rails application. We use MySQL as our main database and rely heavily on Elasticsearch for reporting and analytics capabilities. The majority of our frontend code is written in React.js. Our integrations exist as microservice Ruby on Rails applications.

Stage 1: Initial Phone Screen — If we believe you’d be a good fit after reviewing your initial application, we’ll reach out to schedule a 30-minute video call. We’ll dive deeper into your past experience and learn more about your career goals.

Stage 2: Code Challenge — We’ll ask you to complete a short code challenge to demonstrate how you approach problems. This exercise should take 2-3 hours to complete and is done on your own time. We won’t ask you to code while looking over your shoulder!

Stage 3: Code Challenge Follow-up — We schedule a video call with two of our engineers to discuss your code challenge. We’ll also use this time to dive into technical topics related to Chargify.

Stage 4: Meet our VP of Engineering — Your final interview will be with our VP of Engineering to discuss company, culture, and whatever else you may want to discuss.

Stage 5: Offer — We’ll make an offer that we hope you’ll accept!

Who We Are: RAIN is a digital consultancy who is the preeminent leader in Voice and Conversational AI. We help clients navigate voice technology. We combine strategy, technology, and creativity to drive growth for our clients and use data-driven insight to design and implement voice ecosystems to help leverage a shifting technology landscape into a competitive edge. We’re guided by the belief that technology is, by definition, an extension of humanity, and that great ideas come from a desire to enhance the lives of real people.

At RAIN, we want to work with people of different backgrounds who come from different paths in life. We want individuals who can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to our culture and company. We believe that transparency builds trust, so we default to disclosure in our communications. We believe in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

Restless & Ready. These are the two attributes that mark the talent thriving at RAIN. We look for people who don’t fit the traditional mold, with skill sets you don’t often see in agencies and consultancies. Said differently, we’re always keen to add more unicorns to the stable. We look for people motivated by big ideas and determined enough to make it a reality.

If this sounds like you and you love technology, read on…

This is where you come in; we are looking to hire a talented Senior Product Manager (Sr. PM) to lead this new product initiative. This is an amazing opportunity to have ownership over a product and make a name for yourself in a quickly growing industry.

The Sr. PM will be the glue of our organization working closely with all departments across RAIN and senior management, in addition to participating in regular discussions with clients to launch products and features that move the needle. You’ll be responsible for the success of products from initial conception to launch, including product strategy, roadmap, and requirements for RAIN. You’re a great fit for this role if you are a professional and engaging communicator with a proven track record of product development successes, particularly in a dynamic, agile startup or fast-growing tech environment. We’re looking for a Sr. PM who is technical, intelligent, thorough, and articulate. Experience with voice technology is a huge plus. Passion towards voice technology is a must.

  • Become an authority in your product area. You’ll identify client needs and business opportunities through a combination of user research, collecting feedback from key stakeholders, diving into data, and competitive analysis.
  • Create, define, and update the product roadmap while working closely across cross-functional teams to ensure consistency is achieved, dependencies and risks are raised, and development efforts are not duplicated.
  • Leverage process and create a structure to help teams be the most productive.
  • Partner with your engineering team to achieve successful outcomes by clearly communicating business needs, requirements, prioritizing backlogs, and removing friction from the product development process.
  • Adopt a mindset of product iteration through analytical experiments and calculated risks
  • Solve ambiguous problems, which you will define the scope and direction for in collaboration with your stakeholders and engineering counterparts.
  • Through collaboration, you routinely deliver meaningful results for the business. You share and celebrate and build momentum around positive results. You learn and course correct when you don’t get the results you want.
  • Stay on top of technology and capabilities being developed in the industry. Understand how these new technologies may be applied to products at RAIN.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in a product manager role at a startup or fast-growing tech company. Ideally, at a B2B SaaS or tech company, with a track record of owning features and products, end to end.
  • Love products and see what others are building.
  • Experience building user-facing products; experience defining product management’s role in an organization would be a plus.
  • Data-driven - ability to analyze and use data to inform decisions on where to invest and to measure progress towards goals.
  • Familiarity or direct experience with common tools for collaboration (i.e.: Slack, Confluence, Notion), task management (i.e.: Trello, Asana, Jira), feature flagging (i.e.: Launch Darkly, Split.io) and other tools as needed for creating, documenting and managing the implementation of product roadmaps.
  • Keen listener and collaborator who can partner with stakeholders to deeply understand the underlying needs of clients/prospective clients, and problem-solve creatively.
  • Experience with leveraging data to inform product development decisions.
  • Strong technical fluency that allows you to communicate effectively with developers to understand their objectives and pain points.
  • Design-driven and have a passion for usability and simplicity.
  • An entrepreneurial and self-driven personality - you thrive in startup environments and show persistence in the face of challenges. You maintain a strong bias for stepping up and taking action-yet demonstrate a willingness to learn and receive guidance.
  • Lean toward influencing others and building consensus.
  • Empathetic – you care deeply about the client experience.
  • Comfortable working with multi-location and distributed workforces.

Senior Database Reliability Engineer - FoundationDB
Cognite
senior golang java python scala saas Sep 10

Want to help us bring our fundamental data stores to multiple clouds - public and private?

About Cognite:

Cognite AS is a global industrial Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company enabling the full-scale digital transformation of heavy-asset industries. Our core software product, Cognite Data Fusion (CDF), powers companies with contextualized OT/IT data to develop and scale solutions that increase safety, sustainability, efficiency, and drive revenue.

About the Database Reliability Engineering Team Cognite’s Cognite Data Fusion contextualizes operational data at scale, enabling asset-intensive industries to make data-driven decisions. Our platform is built on many different technologies, each good at solving different problems. Some of these are absolutely fundamental, and the Database Reliability Engineering team will be responsible for the continuous well-being of our portfolio of FoundationDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch and Kafka clusters, some of which we expect to have thousands of in the years to come – in both public and private clouds, through managed services and on self-managed Kubernetes clusters. Even when using mature as-a-Service offerings and Kubernetes operators, there are many things that can and will go wrong. Herding clusters that need upgrading, upscaling, cost-trimming, and recovery etc., while continuously serving heavy workloads with tight SLOs requires solid reliability engineering.

About our Tech stack:

We work with open source technologies that need to run in multiple cloud environments – both public clouds (like Google Cloud Platform and Azure) and in private clouds with customer provided Kubernetes.

Managed Kubernetes (GKE, AKS, Openshift) forms the base that we build our products on top of. To prove the market we initially built on PaaS offerings to store state, such as Google Bigtable, Spanner and Pubsub. We replicate data to different storage systems to be able to answer different types of queries. As we diversify the platforms our offering runs on, we are migrating to a self-run Foundation DB based scale-out data store for managing time series data. PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch are also important examples.

Our backend developer teams work with Java, Scala, Python, and Rust. CI/CD is handled by a combination of Github, Jenkins, and Spinnaker to test and deploy code to production. The infrastructure is managed as code with Terraform and Atlantis and services are monitored using Prometheus, Grafana and Lightstep.

As we are establishing a team in Database Reliability Engineering we are looking to hire two people to work on FoundationDB. We are looking for senior or principal engineers, who either know FoundationDB, or have experience with other high performance distributed databases and an interest and willingness to dive deep and learn.

The FoundationDB Kubernetes Operator is written in Golang, and FoundationDB itself is written in Flow, an Actor system that preprocesses C++ code.

About the job to be done:

  • Join Cognite’s DBRE team as a FoundationDB sub-team, owning the full cluster lifecycle of all of our FoundationDB clusters.
  • Work with both public clouds and on private Kubernetes deployments.
  • Establish robust reliability engineering to support these clusters, managing aspects like monitoring, chaos testing, alerting, on-call rotations, internal best-practices education, and capacity forecasting.
  • Enable product teams to focus on using the databases, and not on running them – but deeply engage them to make sure the products are operable at scale.

About you:

  • A master degree in Computer Science or a similar amount of experience.
  • Broad experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD and Infrastructure as code
  • Experience with large Cloud deployments on any of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiar with C++, Golang or other programming languages.
  • 2+ years of direct FoundationDB operational experience or
  • 6+ years of Linux operations experience.
  • 2+ years working with similar distributed systems
  • Familiarity and experience with our tech stack is beneficial.

What we offer you:

  • An opportunity to make an impact on the industrial future and be part of disruptive and groundbreaking projects
  • In-depth exposure to FoundationDB, a modern cloud-scale distributed datastore
  • Help to relocate to Norway
  • Competitive salary and benefits (including pension plans, insurance, benefits and more)
  • IT equipment and tools to allow you to be productive
  • Coverage of mobile telephone subscription and broadband connection
  • Extended private health services and free yearly health check
  • Free snacks and drinks throughout the day, to keep you running
  • Subsidized lunch at the canteen, with various food options
  • Free staffed gym
  • Social activities (book club, team sports activities - football, boxing, regular Cognite social events)
  • Free Norwegian courses for levels A1 - B1

Equal opportunities Cognite is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Embracing diversity and inclusion means that all qualified applicants will receive the same level of consideration for employment, training, compensation, and promotion. We are following up on equal assessment in the recruitment process, and that is why we ask for gender when you apply. Answering the question is kindly requested, however, it is not mandatory and it will not affect in any way your application assessment.

We are looking to add a UX specialist and front-end developer to our small team of domain experts and developers building the next generation of healthcare workforce management systems.

We are looking for someone to take the lead on defining, designing and developing the front-end of our NHS appraisal, job planning and 360 multi-source feedback systems, highly regarded by clients and doctors alike for their breadth of features and simplicity of use.

We are working on a number of ambitious new features and you will be expected to work on everything from minor enhancements of existing functionality to playing a key role in defining and developing the UX and interface of new modules.  In addition, we plan to enter new segments with new products.

You will have substantial commercial experience of handling the full scope of front-end work, from initial conversations with clients, users and domain experts, through the design and iteration of complex forms, workflows and data visualisations, to implementing and supporting the required HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Your experience will be in building SaaS products, maybe with a business focus, and with experience in healthcare management systems being an added bonus. You will be comfortable working in an agile environment, able to juggle both a long-term roadmap and requirements which may change at short notice.

You will be willing and able to learn the intricacies of a complex domain from both our team and from clients/users, and skilled at turning that knowledge into highly functional interfaces that are both information-rich and simple to use.

We are fully remote and you will be experienced at managing your own time and delivering to tight schedules without close supervision but with the full support of our tight-knit team, working closely with product managers and reporting to our head of development.

Alongside your technical skills, you will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluent in both written and spoken English, equally at home talking to users in domain terms as taking a detailed technical perspective.

  • Experience of using Adobe XD or similar to create a design library

Experience

  • 5+ years relevant commercial experience with 2+ years taking the UX/UI lead on projects
  • Working with clients and users to understand and document complex requirements, and leading both internal and external workshops to explore those requirements
  • Turning requirements and specifications into usable designs that are solidly grounded in the user’s domain and which are attractive and simple to use without being flashy
  • Proven ability to take a lead role in developing a product’s UX/UI
  • Delivering simple, usable but highly functional interfaces encapsulating complicated user interactions to meet highly constrained business rules
  • Experience of data visualisation and business intelligence a benefit
  • Experience of working with NHS or healthcare clients a benefit
  • Experience of working on HR or workforce management systems a benefit
  • Delivering clean, maintainable code in line with modern standards and practices
  • Working to improve and extend an existing codebase while bringing fresh insights to new features
  • Working across the full development cycle from initial requirements through mockups, specification and design to development, testing, delivery and support
  • Ability to write clearly and communicate with everyone from non-technical users to detailed-oriented back end developers
  • Working in an agile environment as part of a small team where everyone has to be flexible and focused on getting things done in the face of rapidly-changing requirements
  • Managing your own time and delivering to schedule without close supervision (we are fully remote with occasional team meetings in London)

All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, every Atlassian will have the choice to work from an office or from home.

Atlassian is seeking a Senior Program Manager in the Cloud Platform team to enhance our effectiveness by leading key technical programs, championing delivery success, and operationalising the platform development processes in order to make our delivery teams more effective.
R&D Program Managers at Atlassian build trusted networks, seek clarity and serve as the grease and the glue to ensure teams deliver complex cross functional programs as seamlessly as single team projects.

You will engage with many cross-functional teams (with many varying perspectives!) and keep them aligned to satisfy the strategic plan. You will need to deeply understand Atlassian's priorities, and relate them to company level business goals. You are a center of team spirit, and you craft and implement pathways to up-level the teams working toward a common strategy.

Does this sound exciting to you? You might be the person we're looking for.

You will:

  • Ensure the Cloud Foundations leadership teams are planning, setting the right goals, and executing on those goals effectively with good tracking and reporting methods
  • Run strategic programs, which focus on technical delivery across the cloud platform
  • Be a partner to product and engineering disciplines to facilitate prioritisation and trade-offs between the Platform group and stakeholders
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Apply good program management discipline to programs across the team, focussing on building plans, stakeholder engagement, communication, dependency management, and risk & issue management
  • Ensure that the Cloud Foundations teams has a transparent and smooth operating model that incorporates common inputs and outputs
  • Always be aware of the highest priority programs, OKRs, and wins across Cloud Foundations. You should be the primary source of status and truth about our programs and will bubble that status up to Platform Leadership
  • Identify areas where programs or processes are needed across the org, and create and manage creative solutions for these programs
  • Coach, assist and facilitate teams to enable them to continue to grow and be even more effective

About you:

  • A passion for solving complex problems
  • You love running complex cross-functional programs in a fast paced environment with many moving parts
  • You have demonstrated excellence in working with leadership teams and have the ability to guide and challenge leadership teams as a true partner
  • You are viewed by your peers and stakeholders as a model for Program Management excellence and effectiveness, and seen as a leader within the Program Management organization
  • You are a progressive thinker when it comes to Program Management and program effectiveness. You can think outside the box and present strategic vision for operating excellence
  • You’re a coach, a facilitator and a multiplier, passionate about software product teams, with a focus on teamwork and how we can work better together
  • You have experience with highly technical teams and can anticipate risks and dependencies on technical programs
  • A track record of translating technical requirements with engineers to break down, scope out, and prioritise tasks

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • An ability to mediate and make pragmatic compromises, and help set priorities appropriately amongst stakeholders and team members across product, engineering and design

The Percona Platform will greatly enhance our ability to deliver additional value and features to our users without them needing to install as many local updates on our PMM Client/Server products and will offer added intelligence to our products. We’re looking for an experienced manager who can grow our distributed work from home team (staff and contractors). We need someone that has a background in developing efficient processes, selecting the right tools as well as ensuring a high pace of delivery and has a demonstrated track record of working across teams to ensure that vital information is not lost as complex development requirements span multiple teams. • Continually find ways to improve processes and efficiencies through technology and automation

Mobile Software Engineer - Direct Hire

About Field Service Holdings LLC

We are a remarkable company in remarkable times. Our business includes PestRoutes software and Lobster Marketing, together comprising Field Service Holdings. PestRoutes® is a SaaS platform providing end-to-end office management software for field service providers in markets such as pest, pool, and lawn. Lobster Marketing adds market-facing web sites, buy online capability, dashboarding, and digital marketing services. PestRoutes was founded in 2012, and Forbes just named us on their list of "2020 Best Start-up Employers" based on employee enthusiasm, fast-growth, and financial strength. In January 2020, we joined the portfolio of Gryphon Investors and have outstanding financial support.

Development @ PestRoutes

On the PestRoutes software development team, code is released daily to tens of thousands of field service staff around the country (our customers' service about 4% of homes in America)—the code you write in the morning could be deployed to thousands of users the same day. Our office software runs on a LAMP stack deployed across self-hosted cloud servers running the same codebase, and our app uses React Native with a continuous integration solution for a clean, build-less release process.

There are lots of differently shaped problems to take on at PestRoutes, and we are looking for engineers who like challenges, are good problem solvers, and can build on an existing framework to optimize for scale. Customer growth presents interesting challenges—you can find something that interests you, with the opportunity to pioneer and take ownership of key features while you grow with the company. Whether you're interested in front-end user experience, mobile app development, query optimization, dev-ops, application security, or something else entirely, you'll be able to find your place.

The Mobile Software Engineer position is a Direct-Hire position.

Responsibilities

  • Implement complex and core functionality within our mobile app related to scheduling, payments, billing, route, internal/external APIs, etc.
  • Own our mobile department and find ways to improve existing systems and processes
  • Help mentor and coach junior members of our development team
  • Work with the latest technologies and tools to solve the oldest problems which affect our customers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 3 years' expert level React Native experience
  • At least 3 years' expert level experience with mobile apps that have offline capabilities
  • At least a year of experience with iOS and Android native development. We use native code for a few features integrated with React Native app
  • At least 3 years' experience implementing complex and core features into a mature codebase
  • Strong knowledge of mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect to back-end service
  • Proven ability to track down, solve, and release solutions to bugs and issues
  • Experience with version control and deployment strategies
  • Experience with Realm or SQLite databases
  • High attention to detail and ability to take responsibility for core changes
  • Passion for development and high desire to release code
