We believe that diversity is the building block of a great culture and company

At DrChrono, we aim to get perspectives from all paths to help us build the best products possible. Learn more about our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion here.

Our mission is to build a technology platform that enables medical practices of all sizes to make care more informed, more personalized, more interactive, and more adaptable. Our platform has been used by thousands of physicians who in turn have provided care to millions of patients.

About DrChrono, our Product, and Engineering
✅ #1 mobile EHR as voted by Black Book 9 years running (2013-2021).
✅ First mobile and cloud-based ambulatory EHR / EMR to be an Apple Mobility Partner.
✅ 27+ million patients under the care of DrChrono providers.

Serving tens of thousands of healthcare providers and over 27 million patients, DrChrono was the first EHR to build a native app for the iPad and iPhone. We’re the only official Apple Mobility Partner for healthcare, the youngest company to be included in the US Government Precision Medicine Initiative, the #1 EHR as voted by doctors, and the #1 mobile EHR as voted by Black Book.

Our products can be completely tailored to any medical practice—small, large, or specialty—and are open to third-party innovation via a robust API.

Our people and the enthusiasm for healthcare is contagious. We’re one of the most tech-forward healthcare players in the EHR industry and our philosophy “more time with patients, less time doing paperwork” drives constant innovation throughout the company.

Most recently, as DrChrono sought to support physicians and patients through the Covid-19 pandemic, the Engineering Organization successfully launched a Telehealth product in just weeks.

DrChrono Engineering plays a critical role delivering innovative products from inception to mass adoption.  You’ll be able to use your expertise and creative talents to build things while working closely with product, design, and other departments.

Our Engineering Organization is currently hiring 7 Software Engineers to join our organization across the following teams:

Provider Team: Electronic Health Records are at the center of what every provider does on a daily basis and includes items like clinical notes, prescriptions, and labs. Help write the code that medical providers use at the point of care.  Innovative patient care anytime and anywhere on your iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. Experience a mobile EHR that is sleeker, faster and more convenient than a laptop.

Patient Team: You will work on the newest feature of our product that allows patients and providers to communicate remotely.  You will also develop the code that allows patients to view their own information from the practices that they patronize.  Here you will work on all of the technologies that connect those who need care to those that can provide it.

Payments Team: You will write the code that allows providers to be paid! All of our practices rely on the ability to use the software in order to get paid and thus this is a primary component of our product.

Practice Team: Providers cannot effectively help their patients if their practices are not managed correctly. We fix this. In this area you will develop features that help the medical practice schedule appointments and communicate with the patients as well as manage their internal workflows

Platform Team: Underlying all of the components of the product is the platform itself.  Here you’ll be working with cloud providers, system configuration, security, architecture and middleware components that keep our product up and running.

If you're interested in learning about other engineering roles and other positions we're currently hiring for, please review our careers page.

PS: If you need VISA support, do not hesitate to apply. We're here to support the best talent we can find.

What you'll do:

  • Create products & features that make it easier for doctors and their staff to run an efficient medical practice
  • Continually offer thought-leadership and dependable execution ability in a high-paced environment characterized by ongoing iteration and product pushes
  • Play a key role in product development, help shape direction of DrChrono feature set
  • Take complex and thorny practices and processes and build beautifully simple and maintainable software
  • Design & write software to help manage and automate the complexity of running a private medical practice
  • Help build scalable programs that standardize information flow and increase operational capacity
  • Be part of a close-knit engineering team that ships new code to make a meaningful impact in healthcare
  • Implement automated and exploratory testing processes that provide continuous feedback on quality issues; find ways to break our web application before their public release
  • Implement internal and public facing pages on our website

  • Platform:
  • Develop the software infrastructure that enables our top level product functions
  • Optimize Django ORM/SQL queries
  • Be a liaison between the DevOps team and the software development and architecture teams
  • Work across all development workstreams

What you'll need:

  • 2+ years of professional experience writing production backend code in Python (Django experience is a bonus!)
  • Experience building products for fast growing web or mobile products with a passion for working with small nimble teams and a bias for action
  • Experience doing some front-end web development using HTML, CSS, and modern Javascript using AngularJS and writing apps backed by relational databases (e.g. MySQL or PostgreSQL)
  • Strong CS fundamentals from a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Passion or experience for emerging health technologies, EHRs, EMRs, or telehealth
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You work well with others while leading individual projects to completion in a distributed environment. You take ownership in your work. Ability to manage conflicting project demands and thrive in a small start-up environment
  • Passion for Scalability: You work as part of a team and care about building scalable and maintainable systems
  • User Centric: A product-first approach to building software. You care about the real world functionality of your programming. Strong sense for UI and UX and the ability to work cross-departmentally with our Design and Account Management Teams to bring new concepts to live
  • Remote First Mindset: Before Covid-19, we held offices in Sunnyvale, Hunt Valley, and Los Angeles. Our teams worked together both virtually and onsite while we'd schedule Holiday Parties and Quarterly Events designed to bring our teams together. We worked together across timezones while hiring and onboarding employees remotely before Covid-19 and will continue to do so moving forward. While we hope to one day collaborate together under one (or several) roofs again soon, we're looking to continue to hire new team-members who are open to a remote first approach while we navigate this new fully remote landscape.

As a DrChrono employee, you'll have access to the following benefits:

  • We cover 90% of medical benefits with a Health Savings Account match. As a DrChrono employee, you gain access to your full benefits your first days at the company!
  • Retirement savings & 401k match
  • Ginger (mental health)
  • Aaptiv (physical fitness)
  • Headspace: A mental health app we provide for our employees. You'll have access to a free annual subscription to headspace on top of our medical benefits. We recently tapped into Headspace earlier this year as the company looked back on our 2020 learnings and prepared for our 2021 initiatives by using their reflection techniques.
  • Physera (physical therapy)
  • Kinside (childcare services)

  • Remote Work Statement
We've moved forward with a remote-first approach. This means current and new DrChrono employees will always be allowed to work remotely, regardless if they were hired onsite or offsite pre-Covid19. We are committed to providing all employees with the necessary tools and support to perform their work from home without any disruption

Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

We, Quality Engineers, in Atlassian’s Team Enterprise DC provide quality assistance, define and improve processes, identify and mitigate risks & implement tooling and automation solutions to multiple teams. Instead of performing manual tests and writing automated tests, we look at the bigger picture and find the best solutions to improve the quality of our products while helping improve development speed.

As a Quality Engineer, you'll be working with development teams to deliver and maintain features in Atlassian’s Confluence for Enterprise DC. You are key in the improvement of quality, speeding up development time, and shipping better products more consistently. In an Agile development environment, you are working directly with developers on innovative projects and outstanding products, whilst collaborating with product managers, designers and support engineers.
You'll lead the efforts in assessing and mitigating risks, solving quality challenges and implementing changes to improve engineering efficiency with the backing of data. You will also train and coach developers on quality assurance, and improve processes across the wider Enterprise DC team together with the rest of the highly-talented and supportive QEs.

What kind of things do QEs do? Well, here is a shortlist of our accomplishments:

  • Creating services that monitor for risky coding patterns, and providing insights to the developer before merging their work to master
  • Convincing a team to architect their code in a different way to make it more testable
  • Pairing with developers to train them on efficient testing techniques (including exploratory testing)
  • Augmenting a team's build pipeline with the right environment to test platform changes
  • Analysing incidents to identify the optimal point to prevent reoccurrences in the future
  • Building a heat map of the complete picture of performance testing results against certain product offerings
  • Analysing automation coverage to find the most valuable area to focus on

The outcomes of this role include:

  • The team reports increased confidence in product quality
  • The team understands their level of product, process, and people risk
  • The team is able to measure and gain insights into improvements to the product quality

The above outcomes are based on work done by the QE:

  • Using data to identify where product improvements should be prioritised
  • Leading process creation or improvement in the team
  • Advising the team on the best approaches to product development
  • Working with Engineering to assess the level of risk in the product roadmap and upcoming work
  • Coaching the team on ownership and maintenance of their CI
  • Implementing solutions that allow the team to work faster

  • Additional responsibilities of the role include:
  • Ongoing assessment of test automation suites to find opportunities for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identifying, promoting and supporting the adoption of innovative tooling and approaches to drive high-quality product and engineering practices.
  • Providing coaching or identifying specialists to provide support in aspects of product quality such as serviceability, recoverability, performance, security, disaster recovery, internationalisation and accessibility.

To achieve the above, most of the following experience is a must:

  • QA support for end-to-end product or feature development (includes contributing to the acceptance criteria, assessing and flagging risks)
  • Different forms of testing (unit, integration, acceptance, exploratory)
  • Defining QA processes for a project team
  • Define quality goals in a project or team and measuring these
  • Designing and/or implementing simple solutions (process improvement, tooling, etc.)

  • The following skills/experience are a plus:
  • Coaching others on quality assurance and testing
  • Leading initiatives with a group of people
  • Improving the CI/CD process (e.g. integrating automated tests and other checks)
  • Developing automated tests or small software projects in any language
  • Performance testing and improvements
  • Knowledge in the following technologies: AWS, Java
More about you

You're a great fit for this position if you want to help ship awesome software, not just prevent poor software from being released! We understand that shipping awesome software requires more than just testing. It involves improvements to processes, tools and testing approaches. Help Scout launched in 2011 and today we have more than 12,000 paying customers in 140+ countries.

Why Help Scout?
We're remote. It doesn’t matter if you’ve worked remotely before — we’ve been doing it for nearly a decade and are helping to write the playbook — we’re happy to show you the ropes. Most folks that get a taste of working in a "remote first" company have a hard time going back to the old way of doing things.

We’re passionate about diversity and inclusion. The data is abundantly clear about diverse teams being more successful, and we're dedicated to setting the team up for success. Today our leadership team is 62% women, and that's just the start. Here's our DEI Dashboard where you can see all of our team demographic data and read about our commitment to this work.

We're committed to SMBs for the long term. Help Scout is focused entirely on serving small and midsize businesses, typically up to 500 employees, because those companies view customer service differently. It's not a cost to be optimized, it's their most effective marketing tool and a key differentiator from the competition. We built Help Scout for companies that truly value being customer-centric (like us) and want a product that shares their values.

We're leaving the world better than we found it. Did you know Help Scout is a certified B Corporation, with a mission to give away at least 1% of our product through Help Scout for Good? Our company exists not just to help ourselves, but to invest in our team, our customers, our community, and our environment.

Our commitment to you
We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a company that embraces and celebrates diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We have read the studies and understand that diverse teams build better products, bring more perspective to the table, contribute to a company’s financial success and help foster a more inclusive environment for all employees, but the bottom line is that it's the right thing to do.

As a team, we built a fully enterprise-ready solution in the course of a few months, one capable of scaling almost infinitely. Our architecture is unique and provides real flexibility for implementing new features.

If you think a great day starts with a challenge to solve, want to have a real impact in one of Europe’s Fintech companies, and be part of a diverse team, then send us a CV and do include some information that’s helpful to round out the bullet points in a CV. This could be a short blurb why you’re interested, a link to code or projects you’ve done in the past. Anything that helps us understand you.

What we’re looking for:

  • Enthusiasm for working in a high-profile startup culture. We ship updates quickly, on tight schedules, with large volumes being processed
  • Polyglots welcome: We use Typescript for most everything, but experience with typical back-end programming languages and no fear of typing is fine
  • Experience across a variety of data storage, from ElasticSearch to Time-Series, and the classics of relational and No-SQL
  • Ability to abstract using a hexagonal clean code philosophy
  • Drive to create event-driven, immutable systems.
  • Experience with scaling from 0 to one million operations per minute
  • Experience with API design (Swagger, Contracts, etc)
  • Experience with containerised services
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code
  • Experience with third-party API’s
  • Solid understanding of testing, continuous integration and deployment
  • Experience in Agile software development: Git, Jira, etc.

Benefits:

  • Join one of Europe’s top startups
  • Work in the architecture everyone talks about, but doesn’t implement
  • Work in the heart of Hamburg in a very international team
  • A flat hierarchy, where you will have direct access to the founders
  • A high degree of learning and ownership in a dynamic environment

We live diversity. In our teams we bring together people with different backgrounds, perspectives and skills. We welcome all applications - regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion/belief, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity.

Full-stack Java Developer
java api grafana unirest apache-kafka c Mar 21

String c = "Candidate"

String g = "Globe"

c: Who are you?

g: Globe Testing (https://www.globetesting.com) is a services organization specialised in SecDevOps, with a clear focus on Software Testing. But I'm not here to tell you about Globe, I'm here because I have a vision, and I want you to make it yours, improve it, and be part of it.

Globe Testing was founded 10 years ago, and since then we have worked on many software development projects for a wide array of customers spanning across multiple verticals; do you know what many of them had in common? a painful start. Setting up tools, processes and best practices was always required, and everytime involved a lot of meetings and questions about "why do you use this or that?"

To ease that pain, at Globe we started developing our own framework, using some of the most common tools / framework / libraries in Software Testing such as Gherkin, Selenium, Jira/Xray, UniRest, GraphQL... The result was something extremely useful for many of our customers and our team, something that added value to Globe and our projects.

You might be wondering... why do you need me?

c: Why do you need me?

g: Well... I need you because we have created something useful, that customers are willing to pay for, and our testers enjoy using, but it is very far from being a product. I need you to make the following vision a reality, and create a product called "artiko" (https://artiko.io):

FOR those testers
WHO are trying to accelerate, standardise and provide visibility over their testing activities
artiko IS A framework
THAT supports testers during functional, performance, security and operation activities
UNLIKE other popular frameworks that support only one part of the SDLC
OUR PRODUCT embraces existing tools, libraries and frameworks supporting true SecDevOps.

c: How will achieve all these madness?

g: You will work hand in hand with our CTO and our customers.
You will start by hiring a development team (5 people), and will be free to choose how you want to shape it.
You will be splitting your time amongst two fronts:

  1. Support our existing customers on their day to day requests and roadmap. Some of our current "users" are extremely big (top retailer in Spain and top 3 worldwide, largest food manufacturer worldwide...). They have certain needs that are only applicable to them (for instance, because they have their own development frameworks). You will lead the team to create feature for our customers, and reuse whatever code you can to improve the general artiko framework (see number 2)

  2. Create the new version of artiko. We want to realize the product vision mentioned before, and make it available to others as an open source project. This in turn will create other means of revenue for Globe.

You will mainly develop in JAVA, as our current customers use JAVA. You will be free to choose pretty much anything else about the architecture, as long as you convince our CTO ;)

Currently the framework is based on TestNG, Selenium, Cucumber, Appium and Unirest. We also use Kafka, Influx and Grafana, but as mentioned before, you will be free to choose better alternatives.

You will shape your days as you wish, it is your team after all. Generally speaking, Globe is an agile company with daily meetings happening on all departments, most of us work remotely (even before the pandemic), although we have offices in Vitoria and Coruña.

c: Supose I join Globe, can I grow with the company?

g: The potential for growth is huge, as you are the first person joining the development division of Globe. You will work hand in hand with the CTO (product vision), COO (to coordinate customer requirements) and CEO (for all financial, sales and marketing activities).

But fear not! we understand you are new to this role, so are we. We will learn together how to shape and take to market an open source framework, while supporting our existing customers and the rest of the testing teams.

c: OK, I love the idea. What do skills I must have?

g: In our opinion, you must have the following skills; feel free to apply even if you don't have them, as long as after reading the previous description you think we are wrong and we need other skills you posses and are able to convince us ;)

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with full-stack app development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Solid communication skills
  • Long term product vision
  • Previous experience in developing and designing API’s
  • Previous experience with microservice-based architecture
  • Previous experience with container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • DevOps experience
  • Experience with event streaming (Kafka)

If you also have any of the following skills, you'll be a top candidate for sure:

  • Software testing expecience (as an SDET, or working hand in hand with an SDET)
  • SecDevOps experience, specially on the synthetic software monitorization and application security side of things

c: Yeah! I'm excited and I really wnat to apply. Anything else I should know?

g: We are a diverse team of professionals, 90% of the company is made of highly skilled testers working mainly on performance and test automation projects. The leadership and funding team is composed of three IT engineers that had a vision ten years ago and decided to stop complaining about their employers and start their own company. We are young, fun, diverse and open. If you think you have something to add to our company culture, please apply to this position!

Senior Backend Engineer
ruby ruby-on-rails aws node-js postgresql backend Mar 16

What is Current Mobile?
Our mission as a company is to enable budget-conscious consumers to earn additional passive income from their everyday habits. We have millions of monthly users and have achieved over 2,500% revenue growth in 2020. Our users earn millions of dollars a year in rewards by using our products.

Senior Backend Engineer (Remote) For Our Revenue Team

The larger organization is split into cross-functional product teams. The Revenue team consists of 2 Android Engineers, 1 Backend Engineer, 1 QA Engineer and 1 Product Manager. We're focused on providing new ways for users to earn, optimizing our ad tech, and building tools to better-visualize our revenue data.

In the past 2 months, we have…

  • increased revenue by a significant multiple into a mid-8 figure run-rate.
  • decreased ad loading time by 85%.
  • improved infrastructure to support a huge increase in growth (nearly 500,000 people earn through our products each day!)

This work, combined with the hard work from our peers in the Engagement team, has led to over a 3x increase in user lifetime value! By the end of the year, we hope to have sustainably grown to over 400,000 DAU.

We operate in 2-week sprints, release Android updates weekly, and control specific functionality through a powerful split testing and feature flagging system. Our Product Managers are committed to measuring and quantifying the impact of every change before we move on.

The team varies between working collaboratively and independently. We want everyone to feel encouraged to take a feature from idea through development and post-release all on their own. But, some problems are best solved together, in which case pair programming, whiteboarding sessions, and discussions are frequent.

Current has 15 engineers out of 32 people in total, distributed around the world (including Chicago, Mexico, California, Argentina, and Croatia). The Revenue team is based in Chicago, Hermosillo, Los Angeles, Croatia, Mexico City.

We rely heavily on the following technologies:

  • Ruby on Rails for our main application.
  • NodeJS for a single microservice.
  • Postgres for most of our persistent data store.
  • AWS for our infrastructure.
  • AWS Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, and DynamoDB for a high-throughput event pipeline.
  • Java and Kotlin for our Android app.

  • taking projects from planning through technical implementation, deployment, and post-deployment.
  • writing high-quality, stable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • switching between working independently and collaboratively to complete projects quickly.
  • meet and work with the product team to understand the customer’s needs.

We are looking for a senior-level backend engineer to join the team. We offer a generous salary based on experience and location, stock options, and bonuses.

We'd love to talk with you if…

  • you have experience building large-scale systems that store and process lots of data (a plus, but not required).
  • you have some experience with technical leadership (a plus, but not required).
